I placed an "ad" on March 6th, 2007 with this outfit over the phone. I'd call it a company, but that would be generous. I never received a confirmation email as promised by the salesperson (or is it SCAMperson?). I guess I should have stopped the whole process right at the point the salesman told me if I didn't get the confirmation email, to be sure and check my junk email folder because "sometimes our email somehow ends up in there".

There is a lot that has been written on this website throughout the internet on GCAT, but I decided to write this report to anecdotally confirm that nothing has changed. And also because I have a new piece of information for people trying to track down their refunds.

Shortly after I placed my "ad" with this disreputable bunch of lowlifes, I had some personal trauma that pushed selling the car I had listed down my priority list. A few weeks ago I realized I had yet to get one call or lead from GCAT.

So I went to GreatCarsandTrucks.com to find my ad. And guess what? You guessed it, the car was not listed. No ad. Nothing. I went a double checked my bank statement and sure enough there was a transaction from GreatCarsandTrucks.com for $158.60. So they had my money and 2 1/2 months later they still hadn't performed the service that I had paid them for.

So I called the number listed on the website and explained that I wanted my money back because they hadn't performed a service that I had paid for. The girl who answered the phone started to tell me that I could print the refund form. I interrupted her and reiterated (with a little more inflection) that I wasn't calling for the 90-day refund. I was calling because they hadn't delivered the service. She then put me on hold for approximately 5 minutes (I was watching the time elapsed).

She finally came back and told me that I would need to speak with the manager. She stated that unfortunately he was not in, but that she would take my name and number an he'd call me back. I asked what his name was and I could hear her asking someone if Chris was the manager. She came back to the phone and said his name is Chris. I gave her my name and number and awaited Chris's call. By the afternoon of the following day, I still hadn't heard back.

So I called back and asked for Chris. I was told he wasn't in. I asked when he'd be in, they told me gets there between 11 and 12 Mountain time. So I made sure to call a little after that time the next day. And no still I was told Chris was not in. I left my name and number again and again and again. In fact nearly every day for the last 8 days. Chris has yet to call me back.

This past Saturday I made it my mission to learn as much about these scumbags as possible. I spent 6 hours straight reading complaint after complaint. Researching until I couldn't look at a computer screen.

I finally came across a post on RipOffReport.com that led me to one of the principles in the company, a Craig McMorran. I was able to track down his cell phone number and I called him today. He called me back within hours. We spoke for a bit. He was polite, but was playing dumb when it came to this Chris Ashby (the manager). Craig was covering Chris for not having called me back despite 8 calls in 14 days by me.

Craig asked me to email him at craig@greatcarsandtrucks.com and include all the details I relayed to him in our conversation. I did that just before I did this. I will see if he follows up.

I will certainly have an update with additional info in the near future. In the meantime feel free to contact me if you feel that you have been a victim of this companies questionable practices and need some direction on how to recover your money.

Craig McMorran the owner of Great Cars and Tracks is still around and all his friends too. Now this short man from Chestermere Alberta Canada is riping off investors on Lake Koocanusa in British Bolumbia  as a OWNER of Sweetwater resort and cashing no $150 but $150.000 /share. Feel free to call him anytime ( same number) 403 606 4577. He rip me off 4 yrs ago with that naive call from Great Cars and Trucks and last summer I come to his presentation about Sweet water investment and couldn't believe he isn't in jail.
