I would like to add my horrible experiences with this company to Richard Baldwin. Many of the dates will be estimates because this process has carried on so long that I do not recall exact dates, and so long that I can no longer retrieve my credit-card statement online for the months in question.

In early February I received the same sort of phone call $99 to list your car for sale, and if it doesn't sell within 90 days you can get your money back. What sold me on the transaction was the money-back guarantee I figured I had nothing to lose. I was sadly mistaken.

Initially I had problems with my listing in that I couldn't upload pictures. I was told I could have three pictures uploaded, but I could only seem to upload one. I called and emailed a few times with no response, finally got through to someone and was told that if I send them three pictures, they will crop them and arrange them into one image. This is not three pictures this is a cut and paste exercise, and really just amounts to one picture with three images, all of which are now ridiculously small and low resolution.

After 90 days the vehicle was not sold (even at a very low asking price), so I called them and told them I wanted my money back. They directed me to their website and a form I had to print out and mail to them. Something they didn't mention at the time of the initial sale was that I had to post-mark the application within 7 days of the 90 day time period expiring if I wasn't paying attention I could very easily have missed that day and not been eligible for a refund.

In addition to the form and a few documents, they needed me to get the package of material notarized. I mailed everything on time, and about two weeks later I got the whole package back it was sent back return to sender.

At this point I was worried that the company had up and moved at worst, or that the 7 day window had expired at best. I called and was told they had a problem with the mail (whatever that means) and to re-send the package including the original letter that shows that I had originally sent the material within the 7 day window, and I would still qualify for the refund.

After sending in the package and waiting for a while (again, I have no idea how long) I began to wonder what was going on with this process. I tried called a few times and always got an answering machine.

Nobody every returned my calls, but my repeated attempts to contact them eventually resulted in someone answering the phone. I told them what was going on and they replied that it could take up to 6 weeks to get my refund. It only took them a few minutes to charge my credit card, and it should only take a few minutes more than that to go over my paperwork and make sure everything is there but alas, I had to wait.

After waited quite some time with still no refund I contacted them again. I was given the email address of the person that handles the refunds and sent her a message describing my frustration and asker her what the status of my refund was.

The response I received was typical of all responses I receive from this company a generic reply informing me that my message had been forwarded to someone, who will forward it to someone else, who will contact me. Not one time have I been contacted by anyone in this company.

Any time I talk to someone it is because I called again and got a hold of them. After many weeks of promises to contact me going un-fulfilled, I called and asked for the manager (who I had spoken with about a month or two earlier when this process was only mildly frustrating).

He told me that the person that does this work does so from home, and is only in the office about 1 day a week. He suggested I re-send an email to her and wait for her to contact me. You can imagine my reluctance to do so considering the history of this problem, and I explained this to him. He would not budge so I re-sent the email and also sent it to him. No reply.

I called back a few days later he told me to wait until she called me. I again expressed my frustration explained to him that I had been waiting months for someone to contact me and nobody had, and he was still unable or unwilling to do anything but tell me to wait longer and he would leave a message for her to call me. He said she would be in the next day and he would have her call me. Guess what no call.

I called back today (October 5th, 2005 9 months after initially placing the ad) and got the same rhetoric. In addition to repeating that he does not have the paperwork, she works from home, is only in the office once a week, he also offered up these choice nuggets of information that will make all of you wonder how they possibly stay in business.

He is her boss but
1.He doesn't know when she will be in the office next.
2.He doesn't have her home phone number so the HE (not I) can call her to stress a level of priority to my claim (even though she works from home).
3.He can't even guarantee me a phone call by her by a specific date.

Basically in his position as her boss, he has no power and she does whatever she wants. Man I want her job! As of today he again told me I had to continue to wait, and even when as far as to imply that I had only given him a couple of days to deal with this. I guess that's all I can do for now.

In a few months I hope to be moving back to Calgary, where this company is based, and at that time I will be in a better position to put a face to the disgust I have with this company. I intend to find out where they do business and pay them a visit. I am so disgusted that I am also trying to come up with ways to make their lives miserable and/or put them out of business.

That's all for now, and I'll update if anything changes. In the mean time, if anyone has any questions for me about this ordeal, or has any ideas for ways I can put them out of business, please contact me at greatcarsandtrucks_sucks@hotmail.com... I would love to talk about this.

I am by no means the only person to have issues with the way you conduct business

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 13, 2005

James,

I have many better things to do with my time that report the ineptitudes of your company... it's very sad that I need to resort to this, but honesly, you have left me little choice. If you look around this website you will see that I am by no means the only person to have issues with the way you conduct business. Your petty taunts show a complete lack of intelligence and good judgement... but then again, I would expect nothing less from your company. My complaint, as with most others on this site, are legitimate. Just because some people don't get pissed off in dealing with you guys is not proof that you are such a great company.

I plan on using the information I have documented in dealing with you, and other information I recieved talking to people on this website, to do everything I can to put you out of business. The additional information I recieved from other complaints against you has made my "wasted" time on this website very usefull. You are a bad citizen, sir, and to claim otherwise must make you sleep better at night, but it's just not true.

Sincerely,

Jeremy H

PS You're a d****e bag... eat a d :)

Welcome back James but sorry to note that your medication is not working. You were having a really bad morning when you wrote those 3 vitriolic attacks on Patrick. I further note that your spelling and grammar has further deteriorated.

I'll keep this brief and wish you good luck but please ensure that you seek better medical assistance. You, my friend, are the one who needs to get a real job! I await your next rant with eager anticipation.

James,

I was starting to get concerned (not!). Somehow I thought you were through with this website.

Oh well, looks like we'll all have to go on hearing your inane rants again.

And by the way, I will tell you this for the last time. "Waist" is that thing you put your belt around. "Waste" is what you are, a waste of a human being. Now get it right before I send Jeremy up there to set you straight.

Dweeb.

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 03, 2005

Oh what a professional businessman you are-NOT!!! You know what they say about protesting too much!!! Were you hit, one too many times, in the head with a hockey puck when you were a child?! Why offer a money back guarantee if you are not going to honor it? So, be rude and insulting all you want it just shows EVERYONE your true colors. I would have my car towed to a junk yard before doing business with you!!!!

One more time for Patrick

AUTHOR: James - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, December 03, 2005

Patrick;

Why do you waist your time on this website? Have you nothing better to do?

GC&T is really successful without you! They sell cars & Trucks & all kinds of things. They have financing for those who wish to sell them & they have a "very good" International website for doing that. A money back guarantee too if followed & d**n good exposure!

However for idiots like you who are looking for something wrong with the website... I am sure you can find it! Now for you & for all the others who wanna complain about their vehicle not being sold on GC&T... "Feel Good!" you had financing backing you up & a d**n good website! If it did not sell... sorry... the dealer is your only other option... if you wish to liquidate immediately.

Who the hell am I giving you advice? Follow Patrick! He will help you with "sweet fk all" & will complain to death as he does it! What a "jerk off"! Wanna be like him?

Wake up! You got a good deal & if you did not sell... go to your dealer & quit being a "cry baby" like Patrick who is worse than that! He does not even have a vehicle listed on the site!

Waaaahhhhh Waaaahhhh! Oh go to bed Patrick! Don't be an idiot like him! Take it to the dealer & shut yer d**n mouth! You had a money back guarantee but you did not follow the rules. & you are an idiot for making a big deal out of it even if you did.

Get a haircut & get a "real job"!

Patrick is so good!

AUTHOR: James - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, December 03, 2005

Patrick;

Please tell these no brained people that they are idiots & let them go on to you to sell them on "whatever you have in store". as these jerks wanted to sell their vehicle & they were not successful! Some did not read the "money back guarantee" & they are still lost!

You Patrick can help them! You can claim to be as much an an idiot as they are & you too can take your car to the dealer to get less... cept I forgot... you don't have a car to sell do you Patrick" Idiot Zone... you design the website!

naww i cannot win either way

AUTHOR: James - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, December 03, 2005

Dear Idiots;

You pay a way bigger price for getting your vehicle sold on other venues! You don't sell em & that is why you go to GC&T. Financing & a really big website does not sell your vehicle! Hey Gambler... try the dealer!

Idiots that think salesmen work for nothing! You jerks! What about the people who try to sign up online... & screw the salesman who talked em into it in the first place?

What about the jerks who get their ad placed but cannot figure out how to add their pic? Easily explained by the salesman.

How about those idiots who figure their vehicle was advertized among "over 90,000 others" that did not get theirs sold in 90 days huh? Would it be sold in the Trader you idiot?

Yea... post... post... post showing how much of an idiot you are just before you turn it in to the dealer as you were "Gambleing in the First Place" & you only lost a hundred bucks cause you did not follow the rules! You idiots!

Sure sign of a fraud.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 01, 2005

Jeremy,

First of all, congratulations. You are the first person who has posted a report here that has actually gotten their money back guarantee refund. Even if it did take several months to get it.

And your last update shows just how these people really are. One of the biggest signs that a company is a fraud, is how many times they change their name. The company here that ripped me off last year has changed their name 4 times since I first dealt with them. Two of the changes were a direct result of my campaigns against their bad business practices. They were getting too much bad press.

Funny how James of Calgary has never commented on this report (he was MORE than willing to add his 2 cents in on all the other reports). He has even stopped posting to other reports that he had become involved in. I wonder if there was a big shake up recently over at Great Cars and Trucks? I guess we'll never know.

Come back and let us know what you find out when you move back.

I actually got it!!

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 30, 2005

It's funny, I ended up getting my refund... about 4 or 5 months after I should have. I was getting nasty emails from their incompetent employee, and then a couple weeks later she called me and acted all nice and asked me if my refund was processed. I don't think they realized that I was the same person.

Interestingly, I recieved an email from someone in Canada who signed up with a company called "Motor World and carsetc.net"... email me and I'll send you a copy of THEIR money back guarantee. It uses EXACTLY the same text as greatcarsandtrucks, and they also forgot to change one piece of text because it actually refers to "Great Cars & Trucks" in the text!!!!! They are apparently aware of they declining reputation and are starting up parallel operations with the same business practices!

I'm still moving back to Calgary in two weeks and I'm planning on following up with this... these people shouldn't be in business.

Nothing yet...

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 16, 2005

As of October 16th, no refund yet. It takes a while for payments I make to that visa to show up, but other payments I have made since Bev was sapposedly giving me my refund have already gone through... but no sign of my refund.

I'm going to be moving back to Calgary in December and I'll be making a more personal and concerted effort to make all of their lives miserable... including perhaps legal action. Anyone have any ideas on what legal avenues I may have to put them out of business? I would like to get my money back, but at this point I'm more interested in getting punitive with them.

Surprised James has not added his 2 cents. Seems he should try cleaning his own house first.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 10, 2005

Jeremy,

How goes it with the refund? Any sign of it yet? If I were you, I would not hold my breath waiting for it. But if you do get it, be sure to come back and let us know.

Quite frankly, I surprised James has not showed up on this report yet. I think he is too busy trashing the USA on the George Bush report. Seems he should try cleaning his own house first.

Anyways, good luck on getting your refund.

I finally got through to the mythical "Bev", and she was very rude at first.

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 07, 2005

Since this is the first time I actually talked to her, I refrained from laying into her, but I still got hung up on. Before she hung up on me, however, she said that my refund had been approved for september 6th (or something like that). Of course, I didn't get my refund, so she told me she'd forward it to the credit department and I'd have to wait. Apparently everyone who works there has exactly one responsibility and no way to get anything done outside of their single responsibility... it's always someone else's department. Then I got hung up on... not really sure why.

About an hour later she called me again and said she would try to personally refund my money and asked for my credit-card info. Maybe not the brightest idea, but I'm willing to try just about anything now. Besides... if the charge me for anything I'll just refute the charge and not pay it.

Anyway, it takes a few days for activity to show up on my card, so hopefully I'll see my money by early next week at the latest.

It's too bad that this company has no idea what true customer service is.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Alas Jeremy, you are not alone in your predicament. Judging by the number of reports on this website alone, this seems to be SOP for GC&T.

And I'm sure that the almighty James Stewart from Calgary will come on here, and place all the blame on you one way or another, but it seems to me like you have all your ducks in a row.

He will also say things like "you're getting a 3 month ad for free, cheapskate", or "you've called them so many times that you have become a pain in the butt, and it is slowing up your refund".

It's too bad that this company has no idea what true customer service is. You will probably need to go down to their local office in Calgary and demand a refund directly from Craig McMorran. Good luck. From what I have read here, that would be like getting blood from a stone.

Hopefully, you will eventually get your refund. If so, it would be the first evidence here that this goal is obtainable (and no James, I'm not talking about money that the customer was overcharged for their initial ad).

Be sure to let us know how this goes.
