Green Tree Servicing Harrasment, over 50 calls a week a for a payment not even 1 month late. Extremely rude customer service, very unprofessional. Vague monthly statements. Rapid City South Dakota

My mortgage was transferred to Green Tree Servicing without my approval after GMAC went out of business a few years ago. Green Tree Servicing has the worst customer service of all time. Extremely rude, borderline threatening. They harass me, and I don't say that lightly. Over 50 calls a week for a mortgage payment 2 weeks late? Very vague monthly statements. Can not login to their website anymore for some strange reason. I despise these people and their company.

Jim, I read your Consumer comment and quite hhonestly do not know why you even commented. It doesn't appear that you have experienced any of the negative or downright unethical situations/circumstances that others have reported. It also seems your comments are fo not fall in the "helpful" category. But more along the lines of picking on consumers who are having "financial difficulties". If you are not currently, or in the past having your own issues with this unethical company (and it has been proven by a Federal Consumer Protection organization lawsuit this company has unethical practices) then I couldn't imagine why you would waste your time making derogatory comments on situations that, not only are you not involved in, but do not actually have first hand experience in dealing with the negative impact that these unethical practices caused for these folks already stressful and challenging lives. I'm sure you could put your time to better use elsewhere.

I also ended up with Green Tree for the servicing of my mortgage. My loan is a government loan, Green Tree does not own the loan, they are only the servicers. Which means they get paid to manage it, post payments and make sure all the numbers add up. They were harassing me as well, at home and called my work. I wasn't late on my mortgage, but they stated they were calling me to remind me it was going to be due. They were relentless and continued to harass me until I got fed up and sent a letter to Green Tree's compliance department.
I told them the harassment will stop or I will contact my attorney. As a result of that letter, it fell under the 'Cease and Desist' category and Green Tree is not allowed ever contact me again by phone, only by mail. There is no excuse for blatant harassment by a mortgage servicer. If there becomes any issue with the mortgagee, the mortgage servicer (Green Tree) has industry standard protocol they are required to adhere to. They are an unethical company and need to be sanctioned and put in their proper place. The prior consumer comment was made out if sheer ignorance.

They don't need your "approval" to sell the loan. Its done all the time in finance and its neither illegal, immoral or unethical.
Oh, they are "extremely rude"...poor baby! Guess what? If you were to make your payments on time, every time then you will never hear from them.
Instead of coming up with typical subprime deadbeat excuses and blaming the lender, do what you promissed to do...PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME!!!
