GreenPoint Credit ripoff dishonest harassment Atlanta Georgia

Like many of the other stories I have read on this website I too have experienced major problems with GreenPoint Credit Co. They are dishonest, cruel, cold hearted, and they don't care if they ruin your credit in hopes that you'll never have the chance for freedom for the rest of your tortured life.

There were several times when GreenPoint would call at early (7a.m.)sometimes saying they hadn't recieved a payment. Give me a break! We were just starting out and didn't have any other obligations. We had plenty of money to pay the $266.00 each month payment. We were so worried our credit would be ruined from all of these "no payment recieved" calls we recieved. Was it because we were young that they thought they could take advantage of us?

This happened several times. Each time we would have to go to the bank and get a copy of the check that had cleared. Our account number was written very clearly on the check so it should have posted to the correct account.

I am remarried now but I can't move on with my new husband because of this company. My name is still on the account and they stil call saying they haven't recieved a payment. The last time this happened was in June 2004. My ex mailed them a copy of the cleared check 4 times because they kept saying they didn't recieve the successful fax. Unfortunately he doesn't know if they are deducting his payments from his balance because they stopped mailing billing statements showing previous payments and balance due when he filed bankruptcy. When you call this company call in the morning because you'll be on hold all day - literally. I'm not including my name in this report because I am scared of retalliation. Instead of applying payments to accounts these people get paid to harass. They manipulate and make you feel like you are the worst bookeeper in the world. Advice- always have proof of payment always write your account number on your check never deal with this company!
