GreenPoint Credit horrible service! Rip-off! Los Angeles california

I made the gigantic mistake of mortgaging my first home with GreenPoint Credit. When I later tried to sell the home and have my Buyer assume the mortgage, I learned of my mistake. GreenPoint was almost impossible to deal with. It took them 9 months to get the paperwork right. I am a real estate attorney and I can work up a mortgage assignment in a couple of hours, so I know that 9 months is just absolutely absurd. All this time I had to make the monthly payment on the house.

Eventually, they finished the paperwork and we closed on the deal. Then they reported to the credit companies that my wife and I failed to make to payments. The real knee-slapper is that the payments we "failed" to make were for months after we sold the property and were no longer obligated under the mortgage. After numerous, numerous, numerous phone calls, voice mails, and nasty letters, they failed to get it right. I finally had to threaten to sue them before they straightened things out.

So now I am venting my frustration. GreenPoint, you suck! I hope this letter puts the final dent in your stock and causes the company to start to circle the bowl. I can't believe you manage to stay in business. You are like a turd that won't flush. Everyone I dealt with at your company was moronic (with the exception of the one employee that mentioned to me that she was real sorry and that you guys do this all the time; she was nice). I absolutely cannot wait for the day that I learn of your inevitable bankruptcy filing. I just feel sorry for all the poor souls that are going to be screwed by you in the mean time. So to all you consumers out there, avoid GreenPoint Credit like the bubonic plague. If you own GreenPoint Stock, for God's sake sell it before you go broke.
