I went to buy Elixirs at this Guitar Center and they KID working there REFUSED to sell them to me and pushed Cleartone strings on me, assuring me they were better than Elixirs. Cleartone strings are DISGUSTING. They are as stiff as a steel rod with no give.  They pulled my bridge pins out with each turn of the tuner they popped out destroying the top of my Taylor guitar.

After being furious about my damaged guitar the store manager tried to appease me with a free set of Elixers.  He OWES me a new Taylor guitar.

I asked the store manager about the giant sign at the front door saying, "Customer satisfaction."  Is that his agenda or does more money in sales regardless of how it affects the customer and how the customer feels.  Cleartone were the most expensive string and that is why he tells his KIDS to PUSH PUSH for more DOLLARS with no regard for the customer.  I shopped at this store for over 10 years but NEVER again.  I will do business with Sam Ash from now on.

Replacement Set, Yes! New Taylor? No sir!

AUTHOR: Clay - (U.S.A.)

Ok, so you were talked into buying "better strings" by a salesman/rep, due to managment direction or personal preference/recomendation. (happens every day, in every business, in every country)
If you're dissatisfied with the strings, fine. Get your money back. (if you can)

I don't believe your story...
"REFUSED to sell them to me and pushed Cleartone strings on me"
Sounds like your constitution is weak. (need to work on that)
Does the butcher force you to buy hamburger, too? Listen to how funny that sounds:
"I went to buy a whole Rib Eye at this butcher shop and the KID working there REFUSED to sell it to me and pushed Flank Steak on me"
We all know what happened, dude... You caved!

Being a 30 year veteran player and owner over several (35+) guitars over the years...I know not to do certain things.
You don't put strings on that seem much larger (or smaller) than the grooves in the nut.
If the strings were too heavy, I can relate. But if the strings are as stiff as you say, they couldn't be wrapped and put in a guitar string package. (I have seen bulk strings shipped in straight packs though)
To damage your guitar when changing your strings is not uncommon if you aren't careful (I'm guilty)
You can't possibly find them responsible.
You are being unreasonable.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but this would be the opinion of most people.
