Guitar Center - Musician's Friend Neglectful Riverton Utah

Guitar Center's online store should not be used.  The company is neglectful to the extreme. I ordered an $850 guitar and a case from them last year and here was my experience:

1.  My order was shipped UPS and was not sent with a signature required.  My $900 order was left sitting on my porch, in plain site, in 30 degree weather, and as any musician knows, cold can be detrimental to wood.

2.  The item was poorly packaged.  The Guitar was banged around so much during travel that it arrived with 2 broken strings (this was not a used Guitar).  It had to be restrung before I could even verify that it was in good working condition.

3. I ordered an Epiphone Les Paul.  Logically, I also ordered a Les Paul case to go with it.  As Epiphone is owned by Gibson, I had no reason to believe the guitar would not fit this case.  The Guitar is, in fact, 2" longer than the case I ordered for it!  I had to go to the closest Guitar Store (an hour drive during rush hour traffic here) to buy a case and new strings as I wasn't leaving my $850 Guitar Unprotected while I waited 2 weeks for a return and the shipment of a new case.

4.  Items ordered online cannot be returned in store.  When I asked about returning the case, I was told that I would be responsible for return shipping (half the price of the case to begin with!) because it wasn't defective.
If the company included a compatibility list of some sort, I could have checked and seen that it wouldn't fit.

With such poor service and poor care to ensure that items arrive safely at their destination, you are taking more risks than any company's so-called convenience is worth.
