Well I recently went to my local hair cuttery to recieve a trim. Unfortunately, I left very unhappy with the results. My whole life I've had very long hair, so naturally I only intended to get 1 or 2 inches taken off the bottom of my hair. This to me seems very simple and quick.

When I entered the hair cuttery it appeared to be fairly busy, but that didn't surprise me. I know it was a holiday weekend, but when you are told that the wait will be anywhere from 15-20 minutes you except to be seen somewhere around that time period.

After going to a few stores, I returned to the hair cuttery. I sat in a very small waiting area. They recently took out the couches and replaced them with more hair stations, so the chairs were placed in the unused areas.

After waiting for about an hour I asked how much longer my wait would be. The woman responded with a rude, "you have two more people ahead of you." Within the next fifteen minutes those two customers were brought to the back, so I knew I would be next.

I was then passed over two times, when I asked why I had been skipped the hair cutter said that with my long hair it would take too long and they had other people waiting to get rollers out.

I know that length might add time if you are getting it layered or highlighted, but a simple trim should not depend on the length of your hair.

After waiting for an hour and a half, I was finally called to get my hair washed. While I was sitting in the chair the hair washer and her two friends (ex-coworkers) that were visiting stood above me and talked about their wild night they had. I didn't even recieve a towel for my hair, instead it was placed around my neck, so it laid on the apron.

The person who cut my hair, seemed less than excited and the hair washer even stated "just smile you only have a few hours left."

I'm glad my hair wasn't chopped off, but I doubt if even a 1/2in. was taken off the bottom of my hair. I also asked to have it blow dryed. My hair was half dried and very frizzy.

After the whole ordeal, I was chaarged $30, for a trim and a blow dry. Hair cuts are priced at $14.00 so either I was charged severely extra cause my hair was longer, or I'll never get my hair dried again.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

OK? If they were rude and you didn't like waiting, then why did you wait?

I have to say, I have been going to this particual Hair Cuttery for years. There is a Japananese woman who's been there forever, how, I don't know, she's a real B?$*#. I had an reaction to some medications so some of my face was red, she refused to see me, so yeh, I know some of their employees are rude.

However, the towel on your shoulders, etc. that's the way they all do it now. They only place a towel on your head when it's color treated, etc. the washer girl rings your hair out and leaves the towel on your shoulders. that's in case the cutter wants to towel dry your hair some more. That's why they put a apron on you.

Hate to tell you, it does not matter what day of the week, what day of the year, etc. you go there, they are always backed up. And your right, not once have I been told 10 to 20 minutes and been seen before an hour, I get used to it.

Now, the problem I have with all this, First $14 is for a hair cut, no drying, no styling, etc. For long hair, they add $7 and additional charges for washing, drying, etc. It's on their big sign. If they were rude and you didn't like waiting, then why did you wait? If you didn't like the outcome, then why didn't you demand they finish what they started? They always ask, "Is this OK?" And why did you pay $30 if you felt your hair was "frizzy", not completely dried, etc? I don't understand.
