I was given a free trial offer after an Amazon.com purchase for Acai Berry weightloss pills. All I had to pay was the shipping. The box came a few weeks later with the pills but no other information.

I called to say I didn't want any more pills sent and everything seemed fine. Then there was a mystery charge on my credit card. This was listed as a Utah company not Arizona. I called the credit card company and said I did not authorize this charge and they sent me a new credit card.

Two months later, I just received a letter telling me I owe $138.90 for the pills I kept. Apparently I was only supposed to use half of the bottle and send the rest back. I actually never opened the bottle and called saying I would send it back but they said it was past 30 days so I can't. They said they will send it to an outside collection agency, but when I called their customer service number they said they are an outside agency. Actually it is just a separate department.

They are only open 9-5 Mountain time which makes it almost impossible to reach them in California if you work a regular shift. I was able to call a little before 4 PM my time today and in the middle of trying to explain my situation and he hung up on me. He gave me another number and it says my call is important to wait on hold and then cuts off and goes to a busy signal.

He offered to take the collection fee off and I could simply pay $88.90 for my "free" pills. All I want to do is send them back. They keep saying there were terms and conditions to agree to on the internet yet I know I would never have agreed to $88.90 for 30 pills.

Is there anything we can do???
