I visited the hhgregg store in Columbia on the day after Thanksgiving. I had not visited the store before, but was enticed by their great advertised bargains.

I had a horrible shopping experience. The associates were more interested in making sure that they got credit for a sale, than in providing customer service. I spent 2 hours waiting in line to pay for my purchases.

Although it did not happen to me, I witnessed several people who had been given a ticket for an item and had waited in line to pay for the item only to be told that the store had run out of the item.

I left happy that I had gotten a couple of good deals, but frustrated by the poor customer service. I was certain that I would not return to the store in the future due to the poor customer service.

My purchases were only true bargains due to the rebate offers. Yesterday I received a post card stating that my rebate offer was being denied due to an invalid UPC number. I submitted more than one rebate offer and there was no way that I could tell which offer was reportedly invalid.

I am confident that I submitted the correct information. The rebate forms were taped to the boxes of the items that I purchased. The company did not return my reportedly invalid UPC. Without more specific information it is impossible for me to rectify this situation.

I frequently respond to rebate offers and have never had a rebate denied. I believe that the denial of the rebate offer was part of a scam.

I do not plan on ever giving my business to hhgregg in the future. I felt that it was important to make my substandard experiences with the store known.

I can agree that the rebates are not HHgregg's fault; however, this store is known to be completely rude.  They harass customers as apparently their sales associates are given way to much for each sale.  Its disgusting.  Not only will they harass you to buy buy buy but they have NO knowledge of what they are trying to sell and will lie to you when they don't know.

This store has ignorant rude managers that will not help you when you have problems with their employee's including when they do something illegal.  Look at my report if you want more details.  'HHgregg liars and theives'  columbia SC

Well first off I did work for hhgregg awhile back and one thing that I can tell you about rebates are that the manufacturer(not HH Gregg) pays for them in a hope that you as consumers will either A. not send them in, or B. not fill them out correctly creating a loop hole for them to deny you money that you should have coming to you.

But yes, this is a rather discomforting thing to happen but i will testify that you should be saying that: Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Magnovox, Olevia, Panasonic, etc... is at fault not the companies who sell the products they make.
