Purchased an extended warranty for three years and was told at the store that I would have Three years after manufacturer warranty of one year. Fours years total. Wrong! Their warranty starts the minute you walk out the door. During the first year the TV quit. Called HHGregg, they told me to call the manufacturer, that the manufacturer was responsible for the first year. When the TV quit just over two years again, making three years of ownership, HHGregg said it was out of warranty. So what I really got was one year of Manufacturer warranty and 2 years of HHGregg extended warranty, paid for three and got two. Corporate headquarters told me Sorry, we are not responsible for what our associates tell you and there is nothing else we can do for you. When I checked the warranties on other appliances I had bought, they also carried a one year parts and labor warranty. How long have they been getting away with this?

HH Gregg is not the only retailer that "overlaps" (this is as mild term) the manufacturer and makes it appear as if you are getting more than you actually are. Send a copy of the warranty booklet you had plus a quick blurb with just the facts to your state's attorney general. Send a copy to the Chief Counsel of HH Gregg. Reference what Conn's in Texas (Google) got charged with by the and paid $4.5 million in fines for. Somewhere down the road you WILL get some satisfaction from this deception. As you learned the hard way, rarely trust the word of mouth from a big box retail sales associate paid on commission and who is not an expert is anything but BS.
