Purchased a 3D LED Samsung TV from HHgregg 5 months ago.  Out the door price over $3,000.  TV will not operate.  Extended warranty company and HHgregg will not work effectively together (after two attempted repairs) to provide a proper solution .  Warranty brochure significantly misrepresents the coverage provided (on a policy that cost over $500.00) in my opinion.  Store management and corporate management (all the way to the level of CEO) have not demonstrated proper regard for me as a customer.

Everyone passes the buck and no one cares enough to listen properly and work with the manufacturer to resolve this issue providing a reasonable level of satisfaction.  As the retail outlet that sold the product they have not been willing to stand behind my purchase.  Now waiting to see if Samsung steps up and does the right thing.  I would strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase from HHgregg to Google their complaints.  Many, many improperly handled customers in my opinion!  I intend to file a complaint with the GA insurance commission regarding the warranty company.  I also intend to involve the GA and Indiana (home office state) BBB.  Please do your research before buying from them.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Mfr Warranty is 1 year

AUTHOR: IntheKnow - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 17, 2011

It is the responsibility of Samsung to fix the TV under their 1 year warranty.  That is in the fine print of your extended service plan - which is just that - extended beyond 1 year.  That is why you appear to be getting the runaround from HHG and the administrator.  Call/contact Samsung if you haven't done already.  Your extended plan would have taken over in year 1 ONLY if the mfr refused to fix it if they diagnosed a failure due to power surge - which itself would be very rare.

Do yourself a favor and cancel the plan - a minimum you can get a prorated refund.

If no one steps up to repair, contact the GA Division of Consumer Affairs, usually an off shoot of the AGs office.
