Hobby Lobby hired my husband, then when he showed up, they said they didn't East Haven Connecticut

Hobby Lobby hired my husband at a big hiring event when they were planning for the opening of the new store near us. He was excited, as he had been out of work for almost 2 years. He shows up at the day and time they tell him to, and they say that he's not on the list, that they didn't hire him, can he come back later to figure it out?

So he goes back later, confused and frustrated. This second time, he is given the same runaround. Who did you talk to, when, what job did they assign to you? Can you come back later, when the other manager is here?

So he goes back yet again, very frustrated. This third time, he is given the same runaround. He tells them everything, asks if he can just go over his resume and W-9 again. They say there are no more job openings. What on Earth?!?
