I made a reservation for a Raleigh, NC hotel for the weekend of May 12, 2012 for my son's college graduation. I requested 2 rooms for 5 adults and 1 child. I did get 2 rooms but, when I called the hotel I was told that both rooms had 1 king size bed. I asked if I could get at least 1 room with 2 beds and was told they were booked and didn't have another room. The hotel informed me there was no rollaway bed or sleeper sofa in either room.
The 5 adults are me, my husband, my 80 year old mother in law, my 70 year old parents and the 1 child is my 12 year old daughter. I called hotwire and asked them about the guarantee that they have that the hotel room you get will accomodate the number of people you entered when you began your search. I had entered 5 adults and 1 child. I have a copy of my reservations that plainly show that. I was told by the very rude customer service rep that the bed types were not garaunteed. When I mentioned that they guaranteed that the rooms would accomodate 5 adults and 1 child she stated that 2 king beds would accomodate us! I was livid. I then sent an email and was told the same thing. I send another email asking how the hell 3 elderly handicapped adults could sleep in one bed! I would have been okay with 1 king for my husband and myself. But, we needed a bed for my parents and one for my mother in law and daughter. I don't think that is too much to ask. I was told to call customer service again that they couldn't help by email. I am so disgusted with this whole deal! I will NEVER use hotwire.com again and I am out for revenge. I will keep the rooms and stay there because everything is booked in the area now due to all the college graduations.

I am now worried that they will try to cancel the reservation on me! I did print out all the emails and hotel confirmations. I just wanted them to acknowledge that they were wrong. 2 king beds will not accomodate 6 people. I am taking my own cot for my daughter, the hotel said they were okay with that. But, I still am trying to find a room for my 80 year old mother in law. She will not be sleeping with my parents! How stupid is that?  Was I being unreasonable to expect at least 3 beds in 2 rooms to accomodate 5 adults and 1 child? The customer rep did tell me she could book at another hotel but, that she could not guarantee we wouldn't get the same thing. I was scared to do that due to the lack of hotel rooms in the area that weekend so I kept the ones we had. So beware if you need a certain number of beds do not use hotwire. Go to expedia where you can pick how many beds you need.
