First let me say before filing this report I gave the IGIS Company that manufactures and warrenties this product plenty of time to respond and refund my money, but I never heard from them.
I purchased the Epil Stop and Spray after seeing the infomercials on television. It looked like a safe and easy product to use. I have the typical male hair problem with my upper back and shoulder areas, and thought this would save me from the dreaded expensive monthly waxing treatments I get. After purchasing the product I read the directions. I tested an area on my arm with the product and it removed a few of the hairs but not like I thought it would and it left a stinging to my skin. Because it was my back and it is a hard to get to area, I asked my roommate to give me a hand. He applied the product to my upper back and shoulders and with timer in hand we waited. The product directions makes it perfectly clear not to leave it on the skin for more than 8 minutes. Well, I didn't have a problem there, as by the time I got to the 3 minute mark, my back and shoulders were on fire. He did as the directions said in removing the product, but my back and shoulders continued to burn. This was some of the worst pain I have ever felt. No matter how many times he wiped the area with water, the product kept eating at my skin. I finally called poison control to see what I could do. The lady on the other end of the phone was surprised after I read her the ingredients. She said way was I putting something like that on my skin. I told her that is what the product is sold for, to remove unwanted hair. The only advise she could give me, was to continue doing what I was doing. Or go to the emergency room.
I have never had such a painful experience before such as that, I didn't sleep well that night, as the pain was so extreme and the next morning I had a Physical Conditioning Test I had to take, to say the least, I did horrible and I could hardly move. I took photo's, as my first instinct was to sue this company for selling a product that is so harmful. I am not that kind of person. I did want to get the word out. So that is what I am doing. So after 7 days, the burns were pretty much scabbed over and the healing process was taking place.
I am so surprised that a company would market and sell such a product. It's sure not what the ad on televsion or the directions in the box lead me to believe. This product is HORRIBLE and I will stick to my waxings from here on out. I wish I could post my pictures here, so I can really show you what this product does to you. Take my advise and think twice before applying Epil stop to your body.
