illinois tollway ita scam over unpaid tolls downers grove Illinois

 In Feb i went to local currency exchange to update my registration sticker on my truck. Once inside i learned in order to do so i must first take the illinois emmisions test. no problem i had 3 weeks before month was up plenty of time to get to test facilty in joliet and purase my sticker. fast forward 2 weeks after passing emmisions and returning back tocurrency exchange to be told my registration can not be renewed please call or visit the illinois sectritary states offfice. so the next after leaving work early to ensure i had plenty of time to get eerything worked out i arrived at my local ss office.

after spending 2 hr in line i was told due to unpaid toll violations my registration has been suspended for the past 5 months and to contact the tollway office in downers grove il. pissed off and confused since i had not used a tollway in quite a few years now that it cost almost $3 to get on and $2 every ten miles i contacted the office threw supplied number. after spending over an hr on the phone with a more then generous rep from there it was determined after notrenewing my account  my i pass was negative over $8,000 in unpaid tolls which where 17 tolls plus fines over the past 2 years. ( i guess my brother was throwing them away thinkin it was for him since he lived w me at the time and was driving a car reg to me).

at the end of the conversation the lady informed me after talking to her supervisor that if i paid $470 something by the end of the day the hol would be lifted and i could renew my sticker. i jumped in my girlfriends car headed to there office and paid the fines. they informed me i could take up to 72 hrs t be released and in the system so after the 3 days i went to update my sticker. again i was told contact the ss office. i called them to be told the suspension wasnt lifted and contact the tollway. afeter another hr of hold and trafers i finally get to the higher ups at the i pass facility.

they said that during the 2 hrs of back checking they performed the last trip i made they somehow missed another $9,000 in fines and i would need to pay the settlement of $512. it has now been  7 months of trying to get answers as to how they missed such a large amount of violations and my copy of all current fines to compare to what was paid in the past and no answer. i no its not a huge amount of money however i cant justify throwing money away and thats what i feel id be doing without going threw theere details with a fine tooth comb once they follow threw and allow me to. if anyone has any info that may help me resolve my issue id reall appreciate the help as im really missing my truck and being in the constrtion trade it really effect my work
