Add another unhappy customer to this seemingly endless list who will stop at nothing to get my rebate checks from this dishonest company. My story is an all-too-familiar one regarding the lovely folks at Inphonic/Wirefly and their unwillingness to fulfill their end of the bargain in the form of 2 customer loyalty rebate checks each worth $150(totaling $300).

I ordered 2 Motorola RAZR V3 Black Cell phones with a 2-year contract with Cingular last September 2005. Part of the agreement was I would receive a customer loyalty rebate back for each phone for $150. (Totaling $300) I had sent all the proper forms and paperwork within the correct timeframe as instructed, back in March 2006 (certified mail).

Approximately 2 months later I received 2 emails (one for each rebate submission) stating my rebates were being processed. Finally a couple of weeks after that I checked status and found out that one rebate was approved and one rebate was rejected. Both had the same info and were mailed at the same time. I made numerous calls to try and rectify this and got nowhere. Each call was the same routine..."I'll resubmit the info again for you, call us back in about 2 weeks". After about 2 months of that I've reached my boiling point.

Just recently, and conveniently for Inphonic/Wirefly their online database to check rebate status is not even working anymore. Oh, and by the way, the one rebate they claimed was approved I never received...according to them I should have received that in mid-July. I'm now just about at the one year anniversary of getting into this nightmare.

In retrospect, I should have done some research before completing a transaction with a company like Inphonic/Wirefly. I'll take full blame on that regard. What kills me too is that I just didn't stop with ordering TWO phones from them, but I also got insurance on both phones as well as some additional accessories to go along with my new phones. And so this is the thanks/payback I get for doing a business transaction with them in good faith never once thinking they had no intentions of paying my rebates.

Well this is only the beginning. Inphonic/Wirefly no doubt think they are getting the last laugh on me but I work in the media and will actively pursue every avenue and angle I can regarding this unlawful matter with hopes that no one else shall fall victim to and be treated the way I and countless others have been. My options are wide open and a good start for me would be to contact everyone from the Better Business Bureau, my local state Attorney's office, Cingular's legal dept, my credit card company, small claims court and my lawyer for starters. Not only that but I am finding there is a wealth of information to be found on the internet with more and more websites popping up all the time from people just like me who have been duped by Inphonic/Wirefly. I will not let them get away with this...
