We went to Jiffy Lube recently to have our oil changed. It turns out they raised their prices to almost $40 an oil change! They said this was to cover the cost of oil prices going up.
Excuse me? Oil prices had gone up to over $147/ barrell a few months ago. However, thanks to the recession, they are one-thrid the price at $55/ barrell.
Jiffy Lube was quick to raise the price when oil went up but they are not willing to bring down the price as oil is 1/3 of what it was just a few months ago.
To add insult to injury, Jiffy Lube now charges for antifreeze/ coolant, which used to be something they included for free. They wanted to charge me $2.99 per quart to refill my car. I said no thanks I can buy a whole bottle of antifreeze for $8 and do not need to be gauged by Jiffy Lube!

There is a scam down there at one of the big chains. They claim to do oil changes for $8.88 and include tire rotation. It doesn't happen.
Another one claims to do four wheel brake jobs for $78. It does not happen ever.
I closed my shop for one reason...I was tired of having to deal with Floridiots who actually think paying the correct amount for work is a ripoff, while being lured in by an obvious scam is not.
$40 for a JL oil change? That's been the normal price from them nationwide for several years.

Do it yourself or go elsewhere. Why is that a ripoff because there 40 bucks??
