The Johnson Law Group was very happy to take me on as a customer and then not talk to me again after they took my money out of my bank account. I give warning to anybody who is looking to really settle their debt...because The Johnson Law Group will only put you in more debt and also increase the risk for you to get sued. They told me they would settle my debt after i deposited enough money into my own accounts and they would get me great settlement rates. They even quoted me 40 cents on the dollar.

They called me and encouraged me to make my first three payments because the lawyers were waiting to get started on my paperwork...but i have found out that that is the money that they earn and after they leave everything else in the air.

This company i found used to also be called Consumer Debt Relief but after too many complaints, they thought they could cean up their image by changing their name to johnson law group. What a bunch of crooks these guys are. Look them up on the BBB to see their complaints...but take it from my experience these guys are in this industry to only make money. If you have heard about The recent scandals from Hess Kennedy...then these guys are right behind them. TAKE WARNING....do not deal with these guys...they are only here to take your money.

AUTHOR: Kevin Rice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 11, 2008

My name is Kevin Rice, and I am the Compliance Director for Johnson Law Group. My response will be lengthy. First I would ask the author to contact me at 866-862-7870 ext. 216 if this is a valid complaint. I would be more than happy to personally address any concern you have with Johnson Law Group.

You may notice we do have two other complaints on RipOffReport.com. Once Johnson Law Group became aware of these complaints we took every effort to identify the individual who filed the report so we could rectify the problem.

Identifying the individuals who felt wronged was not difficult as the they left identifiable information in the complaint.(this individual did not) such as their location and monthly payment amount. When Johnson Law Group cross referenced this information with our database we contacted the client. "I feel relieved as a consumer knowing that you can still put your trust and faith in services you pay for and not feel ripped off anymore." This is an excerpt of the statement made as an update to their RipOffReport.com claim.

With that introduction, let's take a look at this report. How do you respond to a false and malicious complaint? How do you explain to readers that this complaint is not from a client but an angry competitor? How would you react if someone seemingly out of spite or ulterior motives made a statement just to injure you? Remember Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas? What's the first thing that comes to your mind?

When I saw this statement posted on the website it saddened me. I felt sorry for the individual or company who found that the way to compete with another was to plain out lie and mislead individuals. That isn't the purpose of this forum. Neither is it the proper and ethical way to conduct business.

To subsequent readers of this complaint I ask you to read the report carefully. What is the person's complaint? They basically say that Johnson Law Group asked him to make their first three payments and did nothing after right?

Did they ask for a refund? Were they denied a refund? How much money did they lose? I don't see any of these comments do you? If a company took my money without earning it, or fulfilling its obligations I'd be furious! I'd demand a refund. I would be sharing facts of how I was personally injured and be demanding that the company rectify the situation. The person that submitted this report didn't include these facts because there are none to include. Simply put, they were never a client to begin with.

Now look at what they do say:

1) I give warning to anybody who is looking to really settle their debt...because the Johnson Law Group will only put you in more debt and also increase the risk for you to get sued.
a. Really settle their debt This person doesn't really have a problem with companies that settle debt because they suggest that it's an option to handling debt. This is probably because they are offering a similar or alternative service to clients who find themselves drowning in debt themselves. Makes sense right?
b. Also increase the risk for you to get sued How does this person know this for a fact? Did they get sued? Why would they use the words increase the risk? They either got sued or they didn't. If I was a client, and these allegations really happened, and as a result I got sued, I'd be shouting it to anyone with ears. Wouldn't you? Even if I wasn't sued and just plain upset with the company, why would I use the words increase the risk? It doesn't make sense.
c. Only put you into more debt Facts, facts, facts, what are the facts? Did this person start out $10,000 in debt and end up owing $15,000? Sounds like a sermon or a competitor trying to limit another competitor's business than an angry client.
2) They even quoted me 40% This supposed client suggests nothing happened so I'm guessing this statement is that they didn't save 60%. What the average reader might not know is that this is a big no, no. Johnson Law Group will never guarantee a client what they will save. It's unethical because we can't always produce the results. No one can. That's why JLG provides estimates. Our clients are made sure they understand this first through our contract, second through our recorded compliance call, and finally, for a third time during a recorded orientation call. So why make the statement? Because if a state Attorney General or consumer affairs advocate is reading these reports, it will raise an immediate red flag. So do you still think this is a client?
3) Name Dropping In the last paragraph it sounds like the person is just name dropping and throwing up as much doubt and dust as they can. Again where are the facts? Why don't they explain further?

I've written more than anyone probably will ever read or want to read but I am frustrated that someone would simply make up a story to injury Johnson Law Group for that purpose alone. To date, Johnson Law Group has not received any contact from the person that submitted this report to rectify the alleged situation. I doubt we ever will.

I emplore you to take the time to read the previous client reports on ripoffreports.com. Compare the complaints and the difference in facts mentioned . Also notice how the clients left satisfied with their issues resolved in the end. A company run by individuals will always make mistakes. All we can do is try to rectify those mistakes when they do happen and learn from them so as to minimize future mistakes.

I appreciate those who have taken the time to review this comment and hope you will not promote the obvious ill efforts of a competitor posing as a client by placing any validity to this report..
