I contaced Johnson Law Group for Debt Settlement assistance. I paid them over $3,000 plus $112/month (4 months), but received little assistance with creditors calling 5-6 times a day. I was advised not to answer my phone and they would handle my creditors, but never did. When they mailed me my Fair Debt Protection Act letters to mail to creditors, they sent addressed wrong sender and I had to advise them my name and argue with them to look at my file so they would resend correct document.
In October, 2007 I received one phone call for a settlement from their customer service department. I advised the person I would settle but needed paper work from creditor in writing of stated agreement before I would pay. Never heard back (December 2007). After being served for court by another creditor, I called 10 times, sent several emails to their Manager for assistance and never received any help. I finally received a phone call from someone one week before court and she couldn't remember if I was a client or not and spoke down to me as if I was a burden rather then a customer. She finally forwarded me to someone claiming to be an attorney who emailed me a paragrah to file an answer with the court.
Needless to say, I paid a retainer for assistance and received none and spent more time explaining, reexplaining and verifying who I was then getting help. I ended up having to retain a bankruptcy attorney because they were not working with my creditors as promised in agreement and they kept my funds and will not return any calls or emails.
Please do not do any business with Johnson Law Group or Consumer Debt Relief. They are one and same company which I did not know until I contacted Consumer Affairs to file a compliant. They stole my funds and ripped me off....and per our agreement I should have received my monies back since services were not rendered (per our appendix A). They are the biggest crooks ever!

PLEASE NOTE: When I filed my original complaint, I stated Johnson Law Group or Consumer Debt Relief were big crooks. Yesterday when I updated my 'resolved comments', I missed updating this personal opinion I had originally made. They are NOT crooks. They are indeed refunding my monies and doing everything to rectify why I was unhappy as a consumer. I shouldn't have made comment in first place based on emotions. My statement yesterday should have been more clear defining the resolution and making sure that Johnson Law Group are not labeled crooks.

Received a call today from Johnson Law Group from a gentleman to discuss our file and answer questions that I thought were getting ignored on for last several months. He listened to my concerns and issues and apologized for oversite, which I'm more grateful for then anything. He explained to me that I did in deed speak with an attorney and apologized that I felt I hadn't. He even offered to make a copy of file and send to make me feel better as a consumer. (Just when you feel like giving up ~ someone comes through and provides the customer service you paid for).
He assured me a return call from another employee within 30 minutes and I received call within 10 minutes.
After speaking with both gentleman, I feel relieved as a consumer knowing that you can still put your trust and faith in services you pay for and not feel ripped off anymore. I have been offered a refund because I chose to leave program and seek alternative services.
If I hadn't chose to leave the program after speaking with both of these guys, I would stay with this company. They are doing everything possible to make up for some misunderstandings and oversites that not all companies would.
