JUNIPER CREDIT CARD I EVEN PAID THEM OFF AND THEY SAY I STILL OWE THEM MONEY PHILADELPHIA Pennsylvania
*Consumer Comment: If you don't pay the $10...
I CALLED THEM AND ASK WHAT MY PAY-OFF WOULD BE AND THEY TOLD ME WHAT TO SEND AND I DID. I ALSO TOLD THEM I WANTED TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT WHEN THEY RECIEVED MY LAST PAYMENT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I GOT AN EMAIL SAYING I HAD A BALANCE OF 10.00, SO I CALLED & TOLD THEM I HAD MADE MY FINAL PAYMENT BUT OF COURSE THEY SAID I HAD A CHARGE OF SOME KIND THEY HAD NOT ADDED IN . I TOLD THEM I WASN'T PAYING AND HUNG UP. HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH STUFF LIKE THIS, LEAGALLY?

If you don't pay the $10...

If you don't pay the $10, you will probably find a late fee tacked on next month's statement. You are better off just paying it because late fees every month can really add up.
The $10 was probably the interest added between the date the CSR gave you the payoff and the date they received your payment in the mail. You have to account for the extra days of interest for mailing time when they give you a payoff. In addition, when you ask for a payoff, you have to ask for what the payoff will be around 10 days from now (to account for mailing), not the payoff today. They will not just offer that info, even though they should. I think the CSR's just plain don't know how it works. Especially if they told you that you had "a charge of some kind" that wasn't added in. Someone who knows what their doing should have been able to tell you what that charge of some kind is.
