Kevin Jewelers gave away $1,100 bracelet being resized to criminal without checking ID - zero response / acknowledgement from company in Ontario California

Kevin Jewelers at Ontario Mills gave away a fully paid-for diamond bracelet valued at $1,100 USD that they were repairing. They gave the bracelet to a robber that broke into my home, stole my car and then committed identity theft in using the claim slip to steal the bracelet.

When I inquired about the item, the store informed me that it was claimed on Oct 26th. They also claimed that they do not have a policy of checking any ID before handing over items in their custody. When I asked if they could provide me evidence that the item was released to another individual to provide my insurance and detectives at the Montclair Police Department in the open investigation, the manager "Joe" refused to give me any information. He demanded a physical copy of the police report. Joe also refused to give me his last name, business card or the contact information of his supervisor.

Customer service has not acknowledged 3 written complaints or 3 voice mails. In fact the customer service line has never answered a call during normal advertise business hours. After extensive research I found a phone number for a manager, but when I called and got another employee, they refused to transfer me. They took down my info and never replied.

The loss of a gift for my mother-in-law, putting me out $1,100 is bad enough; but I am most concerned by this company's 100% lack of accountability and overt disregard for consumer complaints. Moreover, this irresponsible lack of policy to check legal identification promotes and rewards burglaries, snatch and grab theft and worse for anyone to profit off of theft.
