Okay where to start. We moved from Washington State to Colorado. We called and had an estimate over the phone. After telling them there were two 3 bedroom houses that needed to be moved and one 10x10 storage shed, and an additional storage shed for a friend with some desks, we explained this all. The $8,000 quote they gave us was based on 20,000 lbs. Which seemed high from other moving companies, but they were the cheapest. (our mistake going with the cheapest)But we thought they all worked the same, they load, they drive, they unload that easy. All of the stuff from both houses were put into the garage at one house and we filled up the storage shed so that it would be easier for them. My husband told them we would need a FULL empty truck, one arrived that was 1/3 to 1/4 of the way full the after loading the truck with our stuff untill it was about full they said they can not take the rest of the stuff and they wanted to know what needs to be there first. So of course we said beds and cribs and things like that. Well they had the truck all loaded without two king matresses and box springs, they literally wrapped them and strapped them to the back, they told us they did it all of the time and it is perfectly safe and that they would not be damaged. So we were under the impression they would get there in the condition they left us..oops. We were filling out the paper work and getting ready to pay when we were told that he thinks the trucks weighs more and we should pay and extra $500.000 to avoid taking the truck to the scales and potentially having to pay the $1,000.00 he thought we would be over. Well we took that deal only because we did not get it weighed before they started loading our stuff, there were other peoples things on the truck and he scared us into thinking we would have to pay way more. Also the rest of the stuff that they could not put in the truck would be shipped out in a week no extra cost. We were told it would take 3 days we flew to Co. stayed in a hotel for 6 days waiting for our stuff to arrive. The truck broke down in Wa. oh and the truck needed to be filled with water 2 times on the day they were loading out stuff, based on that they should have never taken anything or had a different truck pull the full trailer. So, extra cost of hotel stay and food. Finally our stuffed arrived, they put most of it in the garage, not what we paid for. Fragile boxes were put on the bottom. The very last thing they unloaded was the two king mattresses and their box springs. The driver a different one then the one that left our house told us they were left outside the truck in Wa. for three days. They were moldy, wripped, and soaking wet. He told us they were not properly wrapped and should not have been on the back, the company should pay for new ones. we have a claim and it shoud take 30-90 days. We are sleeping on blow up mattresses for one adult and a child and a twin bed for two adults. Our second load arrived 19 days after the first stuff was picked up. We are missing two book shelves, a corner shelf, head and foot boards to a bunk bed, entertainment center, and my nephews DS disapeared while the movers were unloading the truck, all three couches were ripped and have grease stains. None of the second load was wrapped with the blankets or taken care of. Through all of this there staff has been yelling at us telling us we need to pay in full before they unload the rest of our stuff, and before they were going to pick up our other stuff.
