on 01/06/2014 i followed a link from a trusted site to information about a risk-free trial for a skin care product. on the site that i visited (which is apparently a different site from the one that i was advised to visit when i called to request my money to be refunded) there was no mention of the no-refund policy that is explicitly stated on the "official" site. the site that i visited and subsequently ordered my product through led me to believe that there would be no further charge on my account - besides the initial $4.99 charged for the risk-free trial - unless i called the number provided within 30 days of the initial order placement, and confirmed that i did indeed wish to continue receiving the product at a cost of $99.95 for a 2 month supply.

when i was charged this amount on my card on 02/05/2014 i called the number provided to request that my account be refunded and the order canceled. if the product had already been shipped, i offered to wait for the refund until after i had returned the unopened product. i was informed by Doug Mackey that there was a very strict no-refund policy in place and that there was absolutely no possibility of compromise on that stance - including my offer to additionally return the original "risk-free" trial offer.

my complaint is that not only was i deceived by whatever site i initially made the order from - and i apparently wasn't the only one deceived by this exact problem, judging from the number of scam alerts and complaints that i have found posted on various sites, but also that according to Doug Mackey, there is no other person within the organization that i can further communicate with regarding this incident. he is, as he stated, 'the end of the line.' there is apparently no possibility of any sort of compromise on this issue, which again, i am not the only person to have encountered. i plan to file my complaint with as many sites and reviews as i can find and will, in addition, attempt to warn future victims.
