My initial contract with Lease Finance Group was over 4 years ago when they were actively using the name Newcourt Finance. The contract was for credit card processing equipment on a non-cancelable lease/purchase agreement. It became apparent almost immediately that the company responsible for the processing was fraudulent when the service was never activated.
Knowing there was no point in trying to get out of the lease with Lease Finance Group, we spent 48 months honoring the contract and paying monthly for equipment sitting in a box. The terms of the contract expired last year, but the debits to the checking account didnt! In conversations with Lease Finance Group, I was told that they would send paperwork required for returning the equipment. It never arrived.
On 2 occasions Ive had the bank initiate recovery. And now, finally a stop payment. In May we received invoices (yes, they send one at least once a week) for a months rent. Again, I was told on the phone that the paperwork for returning the equipment would be sent. Finally, just after the 1st of June, I was told in less than polite terms that no paperwork was required just return the @#%$!@ equipment. The equipment was returned via certified mail. Of course, now I owe 2 months rent as they have no record of my intention to terminate the lease.
They call my home and place of business a minimum of 4 to 6 times a day in attempts to coerce me into paying this additional rent. Ive been told that Im rude, combative, playing games and oh yes, that theyre sick of me. Theyve refused to provide a customer service phone number.. or any other phone number for anyone in their company. When I asked if Newcourt was the name of the company the contract was originally with, I was informed Id have to hire an attorney to conduct my investigation.
When I questioned information on the face of the contract, I was informed that the front of the contract meant nothing and that it was my responsibility to know what was written on the back which of course was totally different than any of the terms shown on the front. On one occasion I was told that if I didnt tell them immediately if I was going to continue the lease, or buy it out, that they would trash my credit or had I forgotten that my social was on the contract.
Im preparing filings with the Federal Trade Commission, Attorney Generals offices, local police departments and am considering filing a small claims suit. In the mean time, well just keep hanging up on them.

File your Report with FTC

Hi,
You may want to send a complaint to FTC (Federal Trade Commission) . I did and received a response saying they don't do individual cases. However, if they log enough complaints, they will start an investigation and possibly legal action. So here is the link: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 to the FTC complaint form. I've told many people about it, so you may want to do the same. Make sure you give specific examples or even let them know you have documentation of deceptive or misleading information. Also, if possible, please scan & send copies of these documents to me at [DELETED]. I haven't given up, but it does take a while for the squeaky wheel to be heard.
As far as CIT, here is their main site: http://www.cit.com/main/default.htm . Also, within this site, I found e-mails and have sent copies of my rip-off report, including a copy of all the complaints listed under Lease Finance Group in the Rip-Off site. Here are some e-mail addresses, you may want to send your concerns to: investor.relations@cit.com, corpcomm@cit.com, directors@cit.com,
I did get the Rip-Off Report Do-It-Yourself Guide and it did have some good steps to follow. However, it was a little lacking in the cyberspace rip-offs. I've been paralleling the thoughts or ideas in this Guide to try to apply them to the internet. For example, instead of sending faxes, send e-mails. So every web site I am interested in, I look for e-mails and make up a group listing & start bombarding them with e-mails and include my rip-off report, plus any other rip-off concerns.
I hope this helps. Thanks, G for California
