"30-Day Unconditional Guarantee If you don't love your new glasses or prescription sunglasses, for any reason, you can exchange them or return them for a full refund for 30 days. Guaranteed."- Lenscrafters.com
I don't have a problem with Lenscrafters guarantee. What I DO have a problem with is what happens to the eyewear when it is returned under this guarantee. The eyewear is fitted with new demo lenses, a new SKU tag is placed on them and then they are resold as NEW at full price!!!
Not only would I not want to buy something under the impression that the item is new but I wouldn't want to buy a pair of glasses that someone, who may have a skin disorder, wore for a month. I think that this practice is dishonest and should be stopped!!

your information is not true. i worked for lenscrafters in elyria, ohio for years. when glasses are returned on the 30 day gaurentee, we put them in our gift of sight box. they go to people in countries who can not afford glasses. they are cleaned and sanitized. please be correct on your info, and don't rip apart a compant if you don't know all the facts.

We put these frames, if they are in PERFECT CONDITION, on the floor as 40% off (frame AND lenses) bargains. You are absolutely uninformed and unaware of LensCrafters practice.

Frankly most optical companies do not have a return policy, because there is no way for them to reuse the lenses that the customer purchased. I have always been impressed with Lenscrafter's 30 day guarantee because they are potentially putting them in the position of loosing hundreds of dollars in profits. It only makes sense to me that the company reuses the frames, otherwise their overall costs would increase or they would be unable to offer the 30 day guarantee at all.

Glasses are returned to the shelf if they are in like new condition and returned within 30 days. The glasses are inspected and cleaned before they are put back on the shelf! If the consumer had any signs of an apparent skin condition the glasses would not be put back in to stock!!!
Glasses, as you know, are a big expense, some frames are well over $200. If they are returned and not re-sold that is $200 in profit lost! No company can stay in buisness this way! That is why most major corporations share the same practice! Even clothes are tried and worn and than returned to the shelf! It is obvious though that this practice bothers you, so my recommendation to you is that when you purchase anything, not just glasses, that you ask it to be special ordered in just for you! We would be more than glad to do this for you! It would only be about 10 days before you recieved your new glasses!
