I placed an order for a quilt, pillow and shams totaling $140.99 on Sunday 11/25/07. The next day I received an email saying that my order had been canceled. There was no explanation as to why my order had been canceled and it looked as though my card was still charged.

I replied to their email questioning why the order was canceled and to verify my card had not been charged. After two days I still did not receive a response. I checked my credit card statement and sure enough they had charged my card. I sent them another email again asking why my order was canceled and why my card was charged. No response.

On Friday 11/30/07, I called the number listed on the email, it was not working. I went to the website and found a 2nd number. It had me on hold for 10 minutes before a recording come on saying to leave my name and number. I did. Still no call or email back.

There is something very shady going on with this company. Who would suspect a quilt company! Be careful in your dealings. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company so I am hoping this won't cost me anything.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Take that excuse with a grain of salt.

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

As a former employee, I can testify that the "item discontinued" excuse isn't always a truthful one, but is often a convenient one.

Elena Santana, the owner of Linens4You.com, is in dire financial strain. This in and of itself is no excuse for how the patrons of Linens4You are treated. Linens4You relies solely on drop-shipping sources. The items purchased are actually coming from a third party and shipped under the name of Linens4You. This is a common practice that generally goes a lot more smoothly than it has been for Linens4You. The only downsides, usually, can be communication problems as well as delayed shipping than if you were to purchase from the merchandisers themselves.

Linens4You and Elena Santana hold accounts with several of these drop-shippers that they are able to charge orders to and be paid in full at a later date to help with the common delayed shipping issue. However, these accounts are no longer all in good standing. Many of them are delinquent and have been closed or put on hold until they can be paid in full or arrangements can be made between Elena and said drop-shipper.

To my knowledge and as it stood when I was employed, Elena has not removed nor instructed to remove many of these items from delinquent accounts from her website. She just leaves them there and gives the customer a longer than normal shipping time frame.

When that time period has passed and then some, whether or not the item is discontinued, Elena or an instructed representative (such was my position) will tell the customer that the item was discontinued or that there were ordering delays and/or system glitches. I am not saying that items don't get discontinued and that there aren't ever ordering delays and/or system glitches, but I know for a fact that this has happened several times.

Truth be told, I didn't quit because my husband needed my laptop. I quit because I couldn't handle being so dishonest to so many irate people day in and day out.

POSTED: Sunday, December 09, 2007

Dear Ms. Cio:

The purpose of the credit email from us was to formally notify you and rectify any credit issues and problems. Please see below our merchant records:

-------------------------

Payment Processor Details, Invoice No. 5508
Order ID Date Transaction Amount Auth Code AVS Ref Code Status
6PD31820V9143732D 11/25/07 auth_capture $140.99 Y 6PD31820V9143732D APPROVED
Processor: PayPal Direct Payment

--------------------

6PD31820V9143732D 12/8/07 refund $140.99 3X2527314K458492F APPROVED
Processor: PayPal Direct Payment

----------------

The first transaction shows when you first made the purchase. The second transaction with an authorization code of "3X2527314K458492F" is the refund. The "3X2527314K458492F" number that you see above is the Authorization Code received from our merchant company when the credit was processed. We can only assume that there was a technical problem in the issuance of the credit. You can also view this information by logging into your account and checking on the history.

You may want to confirm the above information with your credit card company. The technical problem might of been from their side (although they are not likely to admit it).

The notification received today was a formal notification that we have re-processed the credit. We cancelled the above refund transaction and had it re-issued. This should resolve any problems.

Rebuttal to the Rebuttal - You guys are liars & I have your email to prove it.

Dear Mr President of Linens 4 You,

The only reason you gave me credit was because I disputed the charge on my credit card. I was on the phone with my credit card company on 11/30/07 and there was no credit issued. If anybody can see that, it surely would be the credit card company. I can also provide you with TWO emails that I sent to your customer no-service department that were never responded to. And as for my credit, it was issued YESTERDAY. If you'd like to see documentation of when my credit was issued, please see the email from your company below. I can forward you all of this information if you'd like to review it. Whoever is giving you your information is full of crap.

PS - I called your customer service twice during business hours and went into voicemail. I left one message that guess what...was never responded to. This credit confirmation is the only response I have gotten from your lousy company. Thank goodness my credit card company was there to help.
