Litton Loan Servicing $20,000 in fee's to modify mortgage Texas Texas

We owned a home in Bordentown NJ. We were having a hard time financially with our business and decided to sell everything and move to FL. We put our home up for sale and received a offer with in a month, this was May 2007. Well we moved to Fl before the sale was final and 3 months later the deal fell through.

We decide to move back from FL in Jan 2008 and try a save our home from forclosure. Finally in May 2008, Litton Loan said we will try and modify the loan but during the modification process they will agree to accept $2530.00 a month to keep it from going to sheriff sale. We agreed, hoping once the modification went through we would go back to our payment of $1730.00 a month.

Finall in Sept 2008 they sent us the modification package and to my surprise our loan was going from $259,000.00 to $290,000.00, which was mostly fee's. To me this was a huge jump in price. We would have to pay them over $4000.00 at signing the loan modification package then two weeks later come up with $2600.00 for our regular monthly payment now. We were struggling paying the $2500.00 a month as it was. So since we couldnt sign the new paperwork to modify, our home went to sheriff sale Oct 2008. Get this the bank which is LaSalle Bank purchased the home for $1.00,,one dollar.

With everything on TV on how the companys are suppose to help, well we didnt get any. There was no way they were going to help us keep our home. Now its forsale on the market for $259,000.00. They could have just reduce all these fee's so we would be able to keep our home.
