This is a real anti-car shop, a trap for ordinary car owners. These guys are absolutely NOT professional as mechanics, and they are openly looking to fish money out of customers. Whatever the problem may be, their nice and polite manager Maurice will try to convince you to replace all parts that could somehow, one way or another, be related to the problem, regardless of the true condition of your current parts – all at your expense, plus your pay of progressively increasing amount of their labor, even though it is not necessary at all. They also always place you on hold, and are not in any hurry to get the job done. But most importantly, they are looking to cheat money out of customers. So, be careful, stay away from this trap!!

My Honda Accord had a gas leak near the fuel tank. Meineke happened to be across the street so I had them take a look at the car and was told to replace the evap charcoal canister to eliminate the leak. I agreed, they replaced it, I paid $280 for the job, and made sure a number of times to have their word, both mechanic’s in fact, and the manager’s, that it will not leak anymore… The next time I fueled up after their “repairs”, the leak happened again just like before…

So, the charcoal canister did not even cause the leak in the first place but they had failed to tell me this as well as that a part next to it was actually responsible and did NOT come with the canister ! So when I brought the car back to them and had it examined, they said that all the parts of the evap system, including the pressure sensors, the two-way valve, the solenoid and the charcoal canister itself AGAIN (!!), must all be replaced at this time because they were damaged during the leak for an overall cost of well over $1200 !

I mean, you do not have to be a specialist to come up with the recommendation to have the ENTIRE EVAP SYSTEM replaced ! I tried to argue that all I wanted at first was the leak to be fixed and that they had promised to fix it by replacing the evap canister. After a round of arguing they did agree to refund me, I took the car and left. As I drove off there was a gasoline puddle under my car.

To my surprise, when I brought the car to another shop and had it put on a lift, it turned out that they had broken the key components of my evap system ! Hose connections to the pressure sensor and the two-way valve were damaged, with the valve actually ripped off, along with the METAL ARM that just a day ago used to hold it in place ! They had tied up the ruffled parts with a string and left them hang like a sack underneath my car ! The parts must have been damaged by either careless mishandling, or even intentionally, so as to justify their excessive repair costs.

The fuel was heavily dropping down in real time rather than just leaking, collecting a bit on the frame and evaporating away as before. So, apparently, they had actually broken my car and tried to cheat money out of me to repair what they had broken ! When I decided to not go with them, they just handed over the key without saying a word about the broken parts !! Wasted my time with them. Some car care ! UNACCEPTABLE !

They are not looking to help you, they are simply after YOUR money. Do yourselves a favor, guys, stay away from them.
