For the last year I have sent back numerous boxes of products, called Melaleuca direct requesting they stop sending me products and also faxed asking to discontinue the "membership".

It all started with a sorry story from one of the "lead" Reps in Rockledge, Florida. He bragged about the products, used his authority in our community and convinced many of us that we should and stated "try the product and if you don't like it I will stop it".I misunderstood that this would be a one time
trial."MISTAKE" The products do not smell good nor was there value to them.

The saga continues with a large group of my friends. Out of 5 of us signing up together I am the only one that the credit card company cannot help. Everyone else has finally gotten Melaleuca to stop charging them after complaining for months but I have not had mine stopped. I have put in disputes but Melaleuca continues to rip me off. I get a charge automatically every month even after complaining and following their direction on how to stop it. Our "local friend" says "I know the president personally, I will call and get this done".

3 Months since that statement and the bills keep coming.
I have used Shaklee products for a lot of years and have never had this issue. I will be going back as soon as I get help in stopping these unauthorized charges.
Friendship now has turned into me being used to get up the latter for money.

I was informed that you Could cancel through a fax

AUTHOR: Kristen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 26, 2007

To all of your comments that state that you must cancel your membership with a letter is true, but I was also informed that I could send a fax in as well to cancel my membership through Melaleuca. There seems to be a misunderstanding within the company about whether faxes will be accepted or not, and seems to me like it is a matter that needs to be cleared up, because the answer is different depending on who you talk to. How am I to know that one is quoting every written word from the contract if I am not looking at it myself? If you are quoting from the original contract, then the original writer would have known this and would not have such a complaint, seeing how she has the capability to read her original contract as do the "employees" making the rebuttals. Maybe she, as I did, put too much trust into her enroller, as many of you claim that one should do (that is unless something goes wrong, then their is no right to blame the company, just the individual who enrolled them). What are we ever to complain about then? The company or the person who enrolled us? For if we are not to complain about one, are we not justified in complaining about another? Employees take offense because they think 1. the think it's a personal attack (even if their names are not mentioned in any complaint) and 2. they fall back on the excuse that we shouldn't blame the whole company, just ourselves. Good one~Guess next time my order goes wrong at a restaurant I'll blame the server and not the whole corporation as a whole, but wait a minute, the person that the server makes look dumb is the business as a whole and they should be more careful to the employees that they hire to represent them! The same as any other business in the whole United States~!

Business Forgery

Joann,

Yah, Shaklee! My grandparents used to be Shaklee Entrepreneurs. I remember sneaking down to their basement many times as a child to secretly indulge in one of the yummy Shaklee Bars.

It's beyond unfortunate when someone's identity is stolen - no matter the means of confiscation - but it is also deplorable for someone to take the trustworthy name of a great company (like Melaleuca) and soil it by using it for personal gain. This fraudulent person to whom you fell captive is no better than a child who tells a younger sibling that, "Mom said I could have your toy." Mom is trustworthy, so the toy is handed over. Imagine the anger which explodes from the sibling when they find out that Mom never gave any such permission. And, what is the natural response for the younger sibling?
That's right..."Mom!"

I would encourage you, Joann, to call customer service and tattle on that naughty scam artist who took advantage of you and the others. In the two and a half years of being a customer and marketing executive, I have NEVER encountered anything less than pure friendliness and cooperation when calling Melaleuca's customer service number. Melaleuca has very strict guidelines for us when it comes to presenting and representing the company. Someone obviously didn't follow these guidelines!

I, myself, have had to call the company and report a fraudulent sales rep. She was promoting a Make Money Typing at Home business, which a good friend of mine checked into. This woman was selling the rights to type up advertisements for Melaleuca. For a 15 dollar payment to her PayPal account, you could promote the company and charge other people to promote it, too (actually, the girl said you could charge as much as you wanted)! My friend was quick to contact me about it because she's heard me (probably too often) brag about this company, and what this type-at-home-girl served up was entirely different from what the average Melaleuca Marketing Executive would present. Apparently, she was using the good name of Melaleuca to fill the pockets of her Pay Pal account. MELALEUCA DOES NOT-NOT-NOT USE PAYPAL FOR BUSINESS! So, I reported her to the company and, hopefully, saved others from wasting their hard earned money on this phony opportunity.

I would like to encourage you to listen to a true presentation from a real Marketing Executive, if for no other reason than to get the truth. I won't give you my information, so you won't think I'm just trying to get something out of you. I just feel badly because (1) you were taken advantage of, and (2) a great company that I admire very much has been defamed. I pray that these things will be resolved quickly.

A good Marketing Executive is supposed to enhance the lives of those they touch by helping people reach their goals. A person cannot do that if they are working for selfish gain. I have heard it said over and over by my team trainers, members and company representatives that, it's not about us it's about them. My team is big on reaping what you sow and the golden rule and they won't care what you know until they know that you care. I think that is what is so admirable to me. In a world where it's all about ME, I find it refreshing to find a company that tells us to look out for others first. Melaleuca has always had a take-care-of-them-first-and-we'll-take-care-of-you-for-it attitude for as long as I've known them.

I'm sure you have a friend that you might know to be this way, and if someone misused their name or reputation for selfish gain, you would probably try to put a stop to it as well. Well, Melaleuca is like that good-ol-friend that I hate to see put under the chopping block for rumor's sake or misunderstanding. The soil of the scam artist is hard to remove from the surface even with Melaleuca's cleaners at full strength!

The company's website [www.melaleuca.com] has contact information posted. Please turn this person in to the company, and please consider excusing Melaleuca for the injury this person inflicted to your financial and emotional wellbeing.

A NOTE TO MELALEUCA MARKETING EXECUTIVES: I would like to encourage you to research, memorize, read, and train with your enroller until you know your business inside and out. Most all the complaints posted about our wonderful company sit in the pool of misinformation/misunderstanding. KNOW your facts and present them ALL before moving forward on your own with presentations. Practice your presentations with your trainer or enroller and let them tell you when you are ready to go it on your own. In-homes and One on Ones won't get you the results you want if you don't have your information straight! You won't have a Quality Enrollment if you don't give quality information. Lead by example! And let that example be a good one.

God bless!

How to cancel your preferred membership

AUTHOR: Meg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Hi Joann,
I have used Melaleuca products for years, and LOVE them, sorry you don't feel the same way... To get the product you had to sign an agreement either online, or on paper, and become what is called a preferred customer. So, to cancel your agreement you must mail a letter, yes - through the Post Office, not email fax or phone - and let them know to cancel the membership. That's all it takes. Let me know if you would like me to post the address on another response.
