On October 19, 2004, I received a letter from Mid Atlantic Finace stating that my account had fallent into a collection status because September's payment had not been paid. However, this letter was not correct. I sent my payment via Bank of America's online bill payment service. So, I knew that they cashed the check on October 4, 2004. Bank of America was even able to provide the confirmation number from Mid Atlantic for the transaction. I had to threaten to file a complaint with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division as well as send out the attack dogs from Bank of America on them before they updated my account.

For October's payment, I tried to give them my bank's routing number and account number of the phone to pay the bill. Big mistake, the customer srvc. rep. enter in the wrong rounting number. They never debit the funds for payment. I even called back to see why funds weren't debit from my account. But did that help! NO! So, I sent the payment in by Western Union. When I called in to discuss my concerns about my payment, the customer svc. rep. from Mid Atlantic would even speak to me. She had the balls to say " this did sound like me' and refused to give any information. Also, she never asked the standard questions to establish who I was (i.e., date of birth, mother's nee, etc.)

I can't belive Mid Atlantic requested that I pay a bounced check fee of $35.00 for their error!

So on filed a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division for Maryland, as well as with Dept of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Commissioner of Financial Regulations and the BBB.

I need to know what other measure I can take make them clean up their act? ARe there othe Federal or State firms I can contact to file a complaint?
