Mobile Device Protection Association False sense of phone security MDPA there coverage is worthless and the company is a total Scam Boca Raton, Florida

 

I purchased a 9800 torch smart phone from Firefly.  In good faith and because of the two year smart phone contract with AT&T,  I purchased insurance for 6.99 monthly fee, I was told in the event that if anything happen to my new phone it would be replaced or fixed.   Six months later my phone was stolen from my immediate control, the police were notified and a proper report was taken.  I filed a claim with MDPA the next day they Denied the claim without detailed cause,  I wrote them back explaining I had a police report they asked for it, at a cost of 5 dollars I forward to there fax line.  Again denied the claim without detailed cause. everything is done over there web site, it basically took a week to get an detailed answer, they used the report against me saying I was neglectful, it was my fault.  Its Bad enough to victimized but then have your own carrier rip you off as well.   After investigating other cell phone insurance company's terms and conditions MDPA is clearly operating outside the normal nature of the cell phone insurance Business.  In short there terms and conditions cover very little if anything, and judging by the amount of negative feedback  they are a company that should be avoided.  Firefly cooperate did contact me asking alot questions as to why it was denied and they seemed to be concerned, but they did nothing for me, however AT&T was more than helpful in helping me replace my phone at discounted price with a legitimate insurance carrier
