Deceptive advetizing:  Front of mailer - between black headlines - Request for Immediate action - time sensitive material enclosed

Warning: $2,000 fine, 5 years imprisonment, or bothe for any person interfering of obstructing with delivery of this letter U.S Mail TTT.18.U.S. Code

There is an intentional Scare tactic.

No Return address information

Inside:

"Notification that your dealership warranty is expiring or has currently expired! Call 1-866-238-6239 and speak with Motor vehicle Services to continue warranty."

That is a direct lie.

Then:

FINAL NOTICE

What notice?  I have and extended warranty with the Auto Dealer.

Someone could be caught in this deceptive mailer if they weren't suspicious, like me.

Thank you for your time.

I get the same crap all the time. I buy new vehicles every two years and receive those same notices on vehicles I don't even own anymore. Either the dealers sell their lists of vehicles sold or the state motor vehicle dept. does, of new registrations. Someone's making a buck by selling their list. It would be interesting to find out who. I've noticed I receive them right after I puchase a new vehicle and around 3 years after I've purchased one. For years I was receiving messages from odd numbers telling me the same thing on both my home and cell phone but I was never able to call them back. I forget which auto warranty company got into hot water and got hugh fines over those calls, but they have stopped.
