National Platinum National Platinum Unauthorized debit of my checking account for $99.95. Carson, Nevada

I called my bank to see what the $99.95 debit was for and they gave me National Platinum and the phone number 1-800-972-809 to call.  When I first called a fax sound came one so called again and someone answered and asked for my name and account number and apparently had record of my information.  I told them I had never authorized them to debit my account, he said I did when I applied online for membership of this program and I said no I didn't.  He then gave me a confirmation number of my one time membership fee of $99.95 was not refundable and membership was cancelled.  I asked to speak to his manager and he said he was busy on the phone and had no authorization to refund my money.
I asked for a number I could call to file a complaint and he gave me 1-877-403-4331 to higher a lawyer.  Even if I had time to higher a lawyer I sure wouldn't have the money to pay him...is there any help out there for scams like this one.  Or can they be reported to the Better Business Bureau or aren't they aware of them already and can't they put a stop to them ripping off little old ladies!!!
