Navy Federal = terrible bank

They got me when I was in bootcamp back in the day and have had a strangle hold on me ever since. When I was 20 years old, they bumped my credit limit from $6000 to $14000. Generous lending? No, exploitation at its worst. They love tinkering with you APR too.

I cannot count on two hands how many times I've caught unauthorized transactions slipping into my checking account. They don't seem to monitor it whatsoever, and if you call to dispute a claim, expect no respect from their redneck customer service people who care zero about your situation. They charge ATM fees all the time. They practice predatory lending - I myself am a good borrow and have sterling credit, but I am very tentative about maintaining my credit. I can only imagine how rough it must be dealing with these people who isn't as disciplined.

In sum, constant unauthorized charges will pop up on your account, terrible customer service, and predatory lending practices even  to the best borrowers. If you are in the military, skip them and go to your local BoA... and tell your younger personel not to sign up with them. They are bad.

When I was 20 years old, they bumped my credit limit from $6000 to $14000. Generous lending? No, exploitation at its worst.
- Are they forcing you to use the Credit?  NO.

I cannot count on two hands how many times I've caught unauthorized transactions slipping into my checking account. They don't seem to monitor it whatsoever
-
And just how are they supposed to know what is and is not an unauthorized transaction until you tell them?

They charge ATM fees all the time
-
All the time?  Wouldn't they only charge them when you use an ATM or a PIN base transaction?  Those with any fees are disclosed.  If you don't want to pay the ATM fees then don't use the ATM card, or see what you can do to avoid them in the first place.

I can only imagine how rough it must be dealing with these people who isn't as disciplined.
- A bank or credit union is not a babysitter.  If a person is disciplined it is not because of a bank. But on the other side if they are not disciplined it is also not the fault of the bank.

If you are in the military, skip them and go to your local BoA...
- So when this bank increases your Credit Limit, tinkers with your APR, or charges a fee are you going to write a RipOff Report on them as well?

Seriously the ONLY possible ripoff is the unauthorized charges, but since you left no details it is hard to see if it is just more ranting or you actually have an issue.
