My husband and I have been getting a lot of magazines that neither of us ever subscribed to: National Geographic, Time, In Style, Popular Photography, Cooking Light, and others. I figured he must have subscribed to them and he figured I must have done it. But when we finally mentioned it to each other it turned out neither of us had ever subscribed to any of these magazines. Nor did we want them.

I went on line to cancel the subscriptions. But none of the magazines would allow me to cancel the subscriptions at their website. They said the subscriptions were ordered through Newsub Magazine Services.

When I phoned Newsub I was, naturally, put through a bewildering maze of automated phone messages before I could speak to an actual employee. She told me the subscriptions had been purchased through a local camera shop where I had purchased a camera a few years earlier. I called the camera shop and they told me this was false; they had no connection with Newsub Magazine Service.

I telephoned Newsub's number (1-800-321-6247) and cancelled all my subscriptions via the automated system. But the magazines still keep coming. I don't know how to stop these people from ripping me off!
