I was approached by Luis Arce, representing Novus Merchant Services & First Data. His promise was to save me up to $200 per month on credit card processing fees. He never mentioned a lease for a machine. He took my already paid for credit card machine, as he said I couldn't use that, would have to use his machine.

He came in during my busy lunch time & told me to initial & sign so he could complete the paperwork & get me started on my savings. Of which I took him at his word, and was busy and just signed. Later realizing he was having me sign a lease with Northern Leasing of which he never mentioned anything about.

At the end of the 1st month realized I was not saving money & was actually spending more, and started getting charged a lease amount for the machine he insisted I had to have, I could no longer reach Luis Arce on his phone. I tried for 2 months to call him to find out what was going on. After, hiding my phone number he answered his phone & then said he no longer worked for the company & that his attorney adviced him not to talk with me about anything.

I then called his boss, Steve Morgan with Novus Merchant Services & explained my frustration & disappointment & he told me he had to let Luis Arce go, and that Luis had caused lots of problems for his company, etc. He then said Luis should have never taken my machine without signed authorization of which he didn't get, he promised me he would return to me all the monies that I had spent extra since signing with his company, that he would refund me the monies & refund me $100 for machine they put in, if I would get him copies of bank reports & credit card statements. I did this pronto.

Mr. Morgan also agreed to send me another machine as the one they put in my restaurant was not working properly. I never recieved machine, money or phone call. I called him back & he apoligized & said he had sent both (money & machine) in the mail & he would check to see what the problem was. He never called me back. I then called him everyday for about 2 weeks leaving messages with no reply. I then called Mr. Arce back & he said he would send me $100 for the machine he took, never received $100 from him either. I repeatedly left messages for Mr. Morgan for 2 weeks & finally sent him a 6 page letter & the machine (that didn't work) properly back to him certified mail.

I went back to my local BB&T credit card provider & am happy. I lost almost $1000 during this time with these 2 men & lots of headaches. I have been repeatedly lied to & had agreed that I was stupid enough to sign & initial on the lease without reading first and would just agree to pay it off at $2600 over the 4 years, if they would refund the money they had cost me & replace the machine.

Now, I have Northern Leasing Company harrassing me calling my work & home phone numbers 4-6 times a day asking for money. I do not feel like I should have to honor a lease contract that I was lied to, manipulated,  & deceived into by 2 men who have done nothing but lie since the first day I met Luis Arce. I have been in business for 7 years & have excellent credit & am very frustrated at this entire situatuion.

Steven Morgan of Nova Merchant Services Lied to Me also

AUTHOR: chipdirt - (United States of America)

Bonnie,

Your story mirrors mine.  Honestly I have nothing to add because they same exact thing happend to my company.

Luis came in to my store while I was busy, showed me all these numbers on how I could save money.  I trusted him and signed.  Well Luis disappeared and Steven picked up the lies where Luis left off.

In the end, I lost about $5,000 in my dealings with Steven Morgan and his lies.

The number one lie he sells you is the Northern Leasing "equipment for life" program.  Don't believe his lies here. The program will cost you about $100/month times 48 months (or whatever price and month count they can get you to sign up for) so the total cost is $4800.  Well the darn machine only costs about $400 brand new!  So do yourself a favor and just go buy the machine and NEVER EVER believe anything Steven Morgan says.  He is an unscrupulous salesman.

We at Nova Merchant Services; greatly appreciate Bonnie Black and her business. We are greatly saddened that she believes to have had such a negative experience with Nova Merchant Services.  We strive to ensure all clients have a positive experience.

We have offered to release Bonnie Black from her credit card processing contract and eliminate all liability attached to the credit card processing contract. While we do believe that this account was executed correctly; customer satisfaction is our top priority and when we find a client that this unhappy we must as a company do whatever we can to make gain Mrs. Black's satisfaction.

Luis Arce was a representative of our company he meet with Mrs. Black to help her reduce her cost to process credit cards. Which based off of the information we received from Mrs. Black's previous processor; Luis Arce did successfully.  We believe Mrs. Black to have saved an estimated $325.17 while working with our company.  Luis Arce did leave our company to explore other career paths and this had no bearing on Mrs. Black's contract.

In order to ensure that every contract is executed correctly we require all clients to sign contracts a total of 10 times and initial the agreement 12 times. We also require copies of Driver Lic. to verify that signatures on the DL match that of the contract.  We urge all clients to please read contracts carefully before signing them -(please merchants as business owners it is pivotal to ensure you read and understand everything you are signing.)  We will be happy to reimburse Mrs. Black for any equipment that she had given Luis Arce.

We believe that Bonnie Black's establishment the Market Place is a staple within the North Carolina community. Which offers excellent food and service to the community. We look forward to rectifying any issues with Bonnie and wish her and her business nothing but success in 2012! We thank the Ripoff Report for there service to business and the community.
