OAN Services Or PRIVASAFE Billed for sevices through SBC without authorization. New York, New York

As I was reviewing my SBC phone bill, there is a charge on the first page for $16.30 from a company called OAN Services Inc. On the third page where the billing is, the charge was for PRIVASAFE (www.privasafe.com)an internet email service.

When I called this company to find out how and why they were charging me, they said that I signed up through the internet (I did not). After several other questions, they offered to refund my money.

I then called SBC and explained what was going on and asked how this company could bill me through them. They told me that because of diversifying years ago, any company that has a phone or internet service can bill you through SBC without their approval. We then put a block on this OAN company so that they can not bill me any more through SBC... If they want, they can try and bill me direct... I suspect that they won't.
