Oasis Travel Jody Philips, badge# 22004, called and said I won 2nd place in a contest to Flordia and the Bahamas. Asked for $319.00 for taxes. I gave my credit card number to her but heard it was a scam and called and cancelled my card the next day. The did not charge on it yet. I was lucky. Ripoff Deltona Florida

I received a call from Jody Philips, badge# 22004, stating I had won a trip to Flordia and the Bahamas. I did enter a contest on the internet a couple of weeks prior.

I couldn't believe I had won. I asked her for a phone number to vaify my winnings. She gave me the number (888) 883-8404 and said she would call me back in 5 minutes.

I called and a man answered and did varify I had won 2nd place. Jody called back in 5 minutes. I asked her more questions and she had an ansewer for all.

I was sure I had won-I did enter a contest a couple of weeks ago. I spoke with my husband and my mother as I was talking with her and they were a little bit worried.

I gave her my credit card number and she stated I would receive brochures delivered by UPS in about 15 days.

I called my brother in Texas telling them what I had won. He told me to call the Better Business Bureau. He claimed Oasis Travel had contacted him about 8 yrs ago and he fell for the same scam. He was told the taxes were $350.00. He gave them his credit card number for the taxes. He did receive the brochures explaining his trip.

He called Oasis Travel back as soon as he got his brochures and booked his trip for 6 weeks from date. They stated they needed $60.00 more, the boarding pass fee for his cruise. He had them charge it on his credit card also.

Two weeks before he was to leave he received a post card in the mail from Oasis Travel saying they had went out of business and they would not be honoring his trip.

They scammed him out of $410.00. I was lucky. I cancelled my credit card the next morning before they had a chance to charge on it.

My credit card company stated if the charge had went through they would have worked with me to get my money back with the fraude department.

I also contacted the BBB in Flordia and found out they are not registered with them. They advised me to call the Seller of Travel in Flordia, (850) 488-2221.

I called and they gave me the address, 2048 Howland Blvd., Ste., 38140, Deltona, Flordia, 32739, and phone number (414) 322-8134, to Oasis and stated the adddress they gave is located in Flordia but the phone number is a WI number. They also said the (888) 883-8404 is located in Ontario, Canada, probably telemarketers.

The Seller of Travel stated if the charges went through on my credit card that they would help me get it back.

As I stated, I WAS VERY LUCKY. I will do everything in my power to stop this company. Information is the most powerful weapon we can have to bring them down.

These people need to be stopped now!!!
