I have recently taken over payments on my mother-in-laws house. I have made on time monthly payments for 6 months. Somehow, however, Ocwen claims I am 2 months behind. I have front and back copies of every single check I have sent to them - I have faxed this information to them 4 times. but it';s been no use...I cannot get them to update the account.

Meanwhile, they send threatning letters to my mother on law and make threatening phone calls claiming she is behind in the payments. With proof in hand, I still cannot get them to fix this account.

I decided to contact lawers and do some reserarch on this company, and I am sure glad I am not the only one who is having trouble with this company. I have connections with the district attorney in my city who is in charge of the task force on real estate elderly abuse - my mother on law is over 70. I would like to email with anyone who has had trouble with this company AND is elderly -let's get tis company - they are horrible.

It worked with Household because the FTC and several state attorneys general finally realized they couldn't ignore hundreds, if not thousands, of angry constituent -- I mean consumer -- complaints and finally tamped down on them, which forced Household to settle for $400 million only after weaseling their way out by admitting no wrong doing.

Remember, this is not the first time Household had been in trouble over predatory lending practices; their H&R Block unit also settled with the FTC over ripping people off with their advanced tax refund loan scam. That's why you now see Household's touchy feely, warm and fuzzy P.R. campaign emphasizing how they "help" people through the overuse of credit. However, rumour has it Household is at it again and other mortgage lenders are setting their with predatory sites on the Hispanic/Latino community because the African-American community has become mobilized on this issue. Watch out Latinos!

Let me be very clear here: thanks to crypto-fascist, neo-conservative nutjob Gingrich and his like-minded footsoldiers from '94-'98, and Congress' meme of "free markets" and less regulation being good for everyone, corporations pretty much have free reign to keep up this bad behavior as long as politicians are addicted to corporate and PAC money, as long as the public is easily distracted by nonsense like the Peterson and Bryant cases and, from what it looks like, some of the people on this site continue to believe everything spouted by right-wing talk radio and Fox "News" (although I'm certain some of the responses come from the same shills for the company being complained of passing themselves off as different, casual observers). And, if you think this White House or our Corporate Christian reconstructionist A.G. are going to help with this issue or even care, you're dead wrong; they serve a higher calling and it ain't God. It should also say something that the FTC is more concerned about the politically-safe problem of spam than dealing with the really hard issues involving corporate contributors.

My point here is that everyone needs to get over the idea that every corporation has their customers' best interests in mind and start taking action. Write your politicans and make them aware of the problems their PAC-sponsored legislation has caused everyone of you and your families. If they don't respond to your problems, hold them accountable on election day. Write en masse the networks and your local television stations and newspapers. Predatory lending is certainly a larger consumer problem than some soccer mom not getting her photos back in a hour as promised, like one of the stations here keeps reporting on. Do anything to let all the parties involved know you're wise to their schemes and they're not going to get away with them any longer.

I don't know if you are dealing with Ocwen. If you are not, how lucky you must be!



Only a suggestion? Someone nice at Ocwen? Think again!



I believe Ocwen tests their future employees to see who can be the most ridiculous when dealing with their customers.



There is no one nice at Ocwen. Their goal is to take away as many properties as possible and assist the Erby brothers to continue in a lifestyle that really shouldn't be.



I realize it was only a suggestion, but you need to remember who these people really are!

Just a suggestion.



I've been in the mortgage busines many years and have seen this MANY times with clients. See if you can contact the Compliance & Legal Department or ask for the extension of the President or other higher up.



I recently helped a client who's situation was similar, only HOUSEHOLD Finance was stating clients $24K BEHIND in payts. I contacted the President,who forwarded my message to a very helpful and capable person in Compliance. She had it resolved in less than two weeks.

Only a suggestion.
