Ocwen Ruined credit? Atanta Ga

For years I have made it a practice to check my online banking account 5 days after I mail a payment, especially home loans and credit cards becasue it only takes one blip to ruin one's credit. I have a credit score of 800, and I am proud of that. Not one blemish is on my report. Ocwen may be in the process of ruining my credit. They bought my GMAC loan and upped my escrow. How, I do not know. On January 1, I mailed my payment, which was processed on January 5. On February 2, 2014, I received a letter that my $1,200 payment had been suspended even though they cashed it on the 5th. Why? I was $100 short due to the added escrow. I paid exactly what was on the stub. I had already mailed my Febraury 1 payment when I received the late notice (actually mailed it on the 30th). I called and they explained it was escrow, so since my February payment was already in the mail, I found out I owed them abother $100. I had them do a bank transfer for $200. Today is Feb. 4, and I am watching my online banking account for the check to clear either tomorrow or the next day. My problem with them is they took my money and waited until I was, according to them, 30 days late to inform me. And even though the payment is not considered late until the 15th of the month, they said I was 30 days late and would be reported to the credit bureau. From what I hear that will cause my 8.9 % credit cards to go sky high.This home is my second home. I can afford 2 homes but if they cause a chain reaction and my credit score drops and my credit card interest goes up to what they charge deadbeats I may just let them eat my second home and I can join the rest of littered bodies on the highway of predator lenders.  And maybe that is what they want.

I can not understand how our government can let companies like them tear down America. When GMAC sold our loan I looked up Ocwen and found they had a bad rep. All the more reason for me to keep an eye on the payments I sent them. I realize that a large company has people trying to scam them all the time and in many cases, people try to lie themselves out of financial difficulties. If this can happen to me, someone with perfect credit who has an eagle eye on my credit and my creditors, I feel sorry for those who have a one-time difficulity. It only takes one blemish to ruin one good American consumer. And America needs their consumers.

I am posting this becasue, today, my credit is still perfect, but the rep said they would be calling in the late payment. I expect a chain reaction to take place over the next few months. I just printed my credit reprot.  If any government official wants to contact me please use my email because for safety concerns I did not give my real name. This is not about me; this is about the total lack of laws that let these companies act like backstreet thugs.

I will say that Ocwen removed the late payment after I explained the situation to them. Believe me, I would have rather let them keep the $50 rather than mess up my credit. From what I have been reading they are picking off homeowners like hunters shooting deer, and they are taking the good with the diseased. This needs to stop.
