Paul's Locksmith ,number I called, IMDDE Locksmith, Inc. ,name on invoice, Enterprise locksmith ,name on email, Locksmith charged $249. for an hour's work, did a poor job, didn't finish the job San Diego Califoirnia

On Wednesday, 12-10-2013, I went to the Internet, called:

Paul's Locksmith,   6969 Corte Santa Fe, San Diego CA 92121,   619-274-8897

to say I needed a lock replaced on my front door as well as on the metal screen security door.  I was not locked out and I explained it was not an emergency. 

The response was that a locksmith would be out in 1/2 hour, coming from Del Mar.  He had many tools in the back of his Prius and he did not have much trouble installing the keypad lock in the wooden front door.  He could not find a way to install the simpler lock for the metal screen security door and seemed to just give up. 

He told me I needed to go to Home Depot and get a lock for a pool gate that would fit. The workman said he couldn't do anything more until I had the new part, that he was going on vacation and would come back to finish up in about a week.

Of course, as I write this I realize that I should not have paid until the work was finished, but the main part, the front wooden door was done, so I gave my credit card to be charged.  On the receipt was the labor charge :  $249.00 for an hour's work.

I did speak up, saying that it was an outrageous charge.  He said the charge reflected no sales tax and a senior discount.   For some reason, the workman had sawed off part of the metal plate on the metal screen door.  There were jagged edges that tore my sweater when I passed by.  The workman did file the edges somewhat after that.  I am left with a metal screen security door that has no knob or handle on the inside or outside and the door doesn't latch or click when closed completely.  The wind can blow it open.

Today, 12-13, when I was told at Home Depot that there was no lock such as Eres had described and that to have paid $249. was extremely excessive.  I came home and called Paul's Locksmith in Roseville, CA (I had noticed when I was online that this looked to be a francise, not an individual business).   A guy named Chris talked politely to me and said that my case sounded like one he had heard of,  a scam by some Israeli guys.

In chatting with Eres (he gave his name when I asked) I learned that he was from Israel...so then I knew this all was faked.  When I called Paul's Locksmith, I asked how much the hourly rate would be or to be told at least the range of possible charges.  The answer was he couldn't tell me.  I asked to speak to the manager, the answer was that the manager wasn't there....then he hung up on me.

The name on the invoice was not Paul's Locksmith, it was:
