In July of 2008 I switched to high speed Internet and no longer required dial up service from PeoplePC. I sent you an email to cancel but received an email back stating that you must call to cancel your account. PeoplePC's own records show that I called on July 26,2008 to cancel my account. The rep I spoke to was very polite, understood why I was canceling my account and wished me good luck. He then wanted to give me two free months of service for an account that I did not need. I told the rep I did not need it and wanted the account closed. He said I should keep it as a backup that if I had any problems with my high speed. I again told him " I want my account closed, I did not want any additional charges for a service I no longer needed. The rep said he understood and I would not have any additional charges. It is four months later I am again being charged by PeoplePC. I have now called PeoplePC again and have been assured that my account will be canceled. But the cancellation is as of November and they don't want to refund the two months of charges that are now on my credit card.

The company is dishonest! They have a record that in July that I called to cancel my account but say that the rep listed the call for two free months of service and to keep the account open. I don't see why a rep would keep an account from being closed unless there is a financial incentive offered by the company to do so. You have to wonder is this just business as usual? I would tell anyone looking for an internet provider to stay away from PeoplePC they don't know or care what customer service is. They are all about the money. Once they have you they don't want to let go.
