Two years ago I was looking for a specific breed of dog. Pets Unlimited appeared as results of an internet search. I signed up for their free service and told their form what breed I was looking for.
Soon after I began receiving emails from Pets Unlimited telling me that breeders were trying to contact me. I was told that I had messages from breeders with the breed I was looking for and to read these messages I just had to pay $20 for a year long subscription. I did, and when I logged into my newly paid-for account I found no messages.
No big deal, I lost $20. After 4 months I had not recieved any messages from any breeders via Pets Unlimited, nor had I found any ads from breeders with the breed I was seeking on their site. I did, however, find a dog elsewhere.
No longer seeing any reason to access their website, I tried to unsubscribe. I could not find any link anywhere on their website to unsubscribe. The email address included in the payment confirmation email I recieved returned all emails as undeliverable, and no one answered their phone number at any time.
In time I forgot about Pets Unlimited. One year after I joined, my credit card was again billed. Once again I tried without any success to contact them to cancel my membership. When I was billed again a month ago, I called my credit card company to report fraudulent activity. They refunded my $20 and told me to try again to cancel my membership. This time I found a link. I imagine that Pets Unlimited was forced to add it as I am sure it was not there before. I had tried every link on their page with no results.
The kicker is that, now that I have finally managed to unsubscribe from the dreaded unholy website, they have again begun sending me emails telling me that a breeder is trying to contact me.
Don't believe anything this company tells you. Even if you somehow do manage to get an actual service from them, it won't be worth the infinite hassle of dealing with them.
