PHH Mortgage Homeowner Assistance/Modification BS Mt Laurel, New Jersey

15 months ago, we started a loan modification program.  Biggest mistake of our life!  Paid 3 mod payments as requested, sent financial info when ever needed which was 8-10 times.  Called each month after the first three and was told to keep paying the trial payments.  This went on for 14 months.  Each time I called, I was told a different story.  It's in review, It's with the investors, You have been approved, You have not been approved, etc.

Not once did we receive anything in writing until Sept. 16 when we got foreclosure papers that said we owed over $14,000.  Never got turned down or approved.  Called HOPE, they tried to help but got no satisfaction.  I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, got a call from the PA Department of Banking.  They sent PHH a letter and low and behold, we got a letter that said they needed more information from us, which once again, I sent.  A week later got another letter saying that we did not qualify for the Mod because we made too much money and get this....Our credit was bad!  Our credit was fine before this started and all we wanted to do was refinance and they talked us into doing the great modification plan.  Now we will be loosing our home.   NICE!
