This is a clear cut example of a dishonest company cheating the consumer out of a rebate. I purchased two PNY Solid State Drives from newegg.com, a popular company to purchase online computer parts. I read the rebate material prior to purchasing two drives and it clearly stated I would receive a $30 rebate for each drive. After waiting a week to receive the drives from Newegg, I filled out the paperwork and mailed in the rebate information. About a month later I received an email stating that I did not qualify for the rebate. I contacted PNY and they apologized for having made a mistake, and said I would receive my rebate in the mail the following week. A week later I received a postcard stating my $60 rebate was not honored because of an invalid postmark date.

Rebate Finally came after many Complaints

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 15, 2015

Follow-up: After PNY refused the rebate I complained to Newegg, who would not help. I then remembered that after purchasing from Newegg, they pop-up as a Google Trusted store, so I complained to Google. At first Newegg told Google this was a mistake and I had received my rebate, this was not true yet (not clear if this was an oversight by Newegg?). I responded to Google, and this got the ball rolling with Newegg to contact PNY. I finally received my email after providing Newegg some documentation.

Rebate Finally Received

AUTHOR: 2ndammendmentguy - ()

POSTED: Friday, December 19, 2014

I found out that Newegg is listed as a Google Trusted Store, so I contacted Google about the missing rebate. At first Newegg told Google that I had already received my rebate, which at that time was untrue. Then Newegg asked me to submit copies of the rebate, which resulted in them pressuring PNY to pay the rebate. I finally received the rebate after waiting 3 months.

RebatesHQ is processing the Rebates

AUTHOR: 2ndammendmentguy - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 27, 2014

PNY is using a company called Rebates HQ.

If your need to contact them, their fax machine is: 866-964-1214, and email address: rebates@rebateshq.com

I called them tonight and person who answered admitted he received the rebate request on 10-1-2014, and the deadline was 10-1-2014. So asking him why it was invalid. He then said it needed to be received by 9-30-2014. I again asked him did you say reived by? He said yes, and again changed the date to 9-29-2014.

I then read him the rebate literature and it clearly states that I needed and "postmark" within 30-days of purchase, which I had, but they still refused to pay the rebate.
