I bid $180 per night on  Priceline "Name Your Price" , for a 4 star hotel in Miami

(2 nights in May 2010).  I was given a reservation for the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel for
$180 per night.  When I looked up the room rates on line for that date, I discovered
that this rate is the standard room rate for those dates.

I complained to Priceline Customer Service and was told that Priceline "Name Your Price" does NOT guarantee a discounted hotel rate.  I was told that the ONLY guarantee is that the reservation is not refundable or exchangeable under ANY circumstances whatsoever.

BUYER BEWARE!!  I am now unable to change or cancel my reservation after paying the FULL standard price for a hotel that I do not like...I am a victim of deceptive business practices by Priceline.   Priceline will no doubt benefit financially at my expense.

Dumb concept

I agree that the OP doesn't really have much to complain about.  If you bid $180 and the bid was accepted, you got what you asked for.

"paying the FULL standard price for a hotel that I do not like..."

This is what I find baffling about this "name your price" business.  The bidder has no idea what he is bidding on until after the bid is accepted.   Who does this?

I'm thinking of starting a website where I sell people cars.  After they hand over the money, I tell them what kind of car they bought.

Lets see.  you bid 180.00 for 2 nights in May 2010.  They accepted your bid, and you found out that was the standard rate??????

you should have gone on line to find out what the standard rate for the hotel was before you bid 180.00.  If you had done this you could have gotten it for 90.00 or maybe less.

Dont blame priceline because you are stupid!!!!!
