Dec 2006 Washing machine sent in for repairs, in June they brought to my home a washing machine , its not my washing machine, in between Dec & June I have heard every excuse as to why it was taking so long end results where is my washing machine ( by the way I had been with Rent A Center since 1985 and bought over $20,000.00 dollars worth of merchandise and to be treated like a nothing, unexcusable. I also sent in my compaq computer to be repaired, upon return along with washing machine which wasn't mine, guess what this computer belonged to someone else also.

Up to this date July 21st, 2007 Rent A Center has never returned my call or e-mail to corporate complaint center (which they stated that I would receive a reply within 24 to 48 hours. One point to all this is both my washing machine and computer were both paid for and had the extended warranty. So to this point I have had to purchase another washer from Home Depot, Computer still sitting on table, not working and belonging to me. I need help.

Oh yes and the manager that I was dealing with is Gabe, very unprofessional, always blaming his employees for everything that goes wrong.

Hello Jovita,

The previous posting is not from another employee, I can bet on that. Anyway, there are some descriptions missing out of your email. Since you said the company brought you a different washer machine, did you ask them why? What was the results? There have been a couple of times I have seen that if the service bill is going to be worth more then the retail value of the merchandise, the company will find you another washer machine instead. I'm not saying this is what happened in your case, but you should find out what the problem is from your local RAC store.

Same goes with the computer. I would ask why is this not the same computer. You have been paying on them, so you have a right to know. If the computer is not working, bring the computer back to the store and make them find you another one.

If I were you I would compare the serial numbers on the agreement with the actual merchandise and if they do not match then I would contact a civil or crimnal lawyer and see what you can do legally against Rent A Center. Also, if they do not match I wouldn't pay considering you don't have the merchandise in your possession that is stated on the agreement.

Don't let them intimidate you, they only have so much they can do legally but get away with alot because people are afraid of getting into legal trouble that Rent A Center threatens you with.

I am sorry that you have put so much money into a company that does not care. The reason they delivered the wrong stuff to you is simple:they didnt check the serial numbers on both the washing machine and the computer. And if they really cared they would have told you how to restore your computer over the phone instead of being lazy and just sending it to their service dept. READ MY LIPS RENT A CENTER JUST DOES NOT CARE!!! I AM GOING TO DO MY BEST TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT THERE IS ANOTHER CHOICE BESIDES RENT-TO-OWN!!! DONT FALL PREY TO THEM!!!
