Rent-A-Center Threaten my family by trying to get me kicked out of my house. Ripoff! San Antonio Texas

A family member owes them some money and didnt contact them. That family member happens to be on my lease. So basicly I have no contract what so ever with them. I just moved in this house about 2 weeks ago and last night I heard a door bell.

When I answered there was 2 people from Rent A Center at my door. Asking for my "family member". I tried to contact my family member. I tried to explain to them that "family member" doesnt live with me realy she may step in here and there though but she is realy just helping me and my wife out on getting the apartment. Seeing how we still have new credit. They understood and asked me if I could call "family member".

So I called and this person works in a group home. So they were not able to talk but about 30 seconds. They understood and said please try to have that person contact us by 12. I said I will give her a call and let her know. So everything was fine with me. They understood that basicly just me and my wife lives here.

Now the very next night I hear another door bell and its Rent A Center again. I was nice again but this time it wasnt the same two people. One was but the same but he just kinda sat in the back last time and didnt say but about 5 words. This time he said about the same. But this person named Alex Munoz about 5'8 did say something that upset me. I was nice once again and explained to him what is going on and that yes I will try and contact my "family member".

This time he doesnt even let me go for the phone. He asked so your "family member" doesnt live here? I said well not realy she might step in here and there but she basicly just helping with the credit to get this place for me and my wife.

I explained to him that we still kind of have new credit so my wife and I thought it would be hard getting a place. He laughed and said I dont see how she can get approved for anything. He made one more comment about it but I honestly cant remember. Then he starts trying to look passed me witch didnt bother me but still pretty rude. Then he says well I am going to have to let the Main office of your apartment know that she doesnt live here. So you better hope she moves back in our your on the street.

Come on did anyone see this coming? This happened on 01/6/05. I was being very nice to them I thought. It hasnt been 24 hours yet so I dont have a update but hopefully I can get soemthing done about this company or atleast this single person. If anyone would like to email me on something I can do about this that would be great.
