Complaint Review: resume.com - Internet
resume.com The Business Centre Barbados Scam to enroll users in monthly subscription after promising FREE resume builder Internet
This is a web site that claims to offer "FREE" resume building. Only once you have chosen a format and entered all your information does it tell you that now you must pay $39.95 to GET the resume.
That's bad enough, but at that point you've spent so much time getting everything right in what you believe is a simple formatting program, you might be willing to pay the (extravagant) amount, just to get it over with.
Only later will you discover that resume.com considers itself a "subscription service" and that it will proceed to bill you $39.95 every month. The only way out is to call their 800 number and cancel. Meanwhile they've made FAR more money than any job seeker ever wanted to send them. It's deceptive, and bait-and-switch illegal.
Moreover, it targets job seekers, who are the least among us able to pay. If not caught in time, this Rip Off will charge innocent victims nearly $500 a year, for nothing more than a simple format.
